JWH is a big loss...especially as he would have gone gangbusters against Souths in the first round...out of all our forwards I had the confidence that he would have shortened Burgess up and put him in his place...he's one aggressive mother (JWH that is)

Injury update after first trials
Monday, 15 February 2010
Steve Naughton was the Sydney Roosters only injury concern of the 44 players that participated in the two trials over the weekend.
The promising young winger fractured his collarbone at the Rotorua International Stadium against the New Zealand Warriors and is expected to be out of action for at least six weeks.
Naughton’s earliest return is set for the round three away match to the Canterbury Bulldogs, where there is also hope fellow new recruit Jared Waerea-Hargreaves may return after he recovers from surgery on a dislocated shoulder.
In other injury news there has been a positive outcome for Roosters captain Braith Anasta after he was told he would not need further surgery on his ankle.
Anasta’s preseason has been disrupted as he continues to recover from last season’s devastating injury but he is expected to feature in round one for the Tricolours.

Linnett is a centre we got from Saints NYC and Naughton is the flying winger we aquired from the Raiders.
I reckon both players will be playing the majority of the season for the Jets unless called up by Smith to cover for injuries, suspensions etc..

things are looking good for this year. carney has to be in the halves, without question. and mini back 2 fullback. anasta is more effective at lock, and with pearce and carney in the halves, scoring points will not be a problem. cant wait for JWH to come back from injury, he is just wat the roosters need in the forwards, sum youth although with ryles there theyve got experience.
well balanced side, i rekon definitely a top 8 finish

Smith's pledge
SMH story 2.3.2010
Brian Smith received a letter from a fan yesterday that spelled out for the newly arrived Sydney Roosters coach just how much damage was done in their season of woe last year. The fan said he had yet to renew his membership after watching the club slide to the wooden spoon in 2009, not to mention various atrocities off the field that tarnished its image. He told Smith in the letter he had even stopped letting his son wear his Roosters jersey, such was his disappointment, and wanted to be convinced that the new coach was steering the club back on the right track. Smith did just that, firing off an email asking the fan to keep the faith. ''We're getting there but we have a long way to go,'' said Smith of restoring the Roosters' name as the team held a media launch at Waverley Bowling Club.
We're right behind you Brian.
