    I don't get it.

You don't have success without being smart.

    Dumb teams don't win comps.

Seriously look at 2010 as an example. On paper you could argue we had the more skilful side, more ability, but The Stains were the smarter side with the smarter coach.

I look at SKiD, PearceOrf, Friendly, Butterball and a few others and I don't see the sharpest tools in the shed.

WoManly with Lyon, Foran, DCE, Spewarts, Balin, King even Matai and Whatnow. Tough and smart footballers. They have the runs on the board and the GF rings to prove it.

    You know it makes sense.

That is completely wrong, one example is 2010 SKD he was successful, he was the form centre, he was also a moron. That 2010 team you mentioned was also numerous bad calls away from being the premiers.

That's your original post mate. You called woManly the dumbest team.

You said woManlys success doesn't come down to smarts, it's their ability. I said dumb teams don't win comps.

I'm talking teams. Sure some players are dumb or may play dumb but overall woManly are not a dumb side. How can a dumb side have that much continued success???

If it was possible I believe we'd have dominated for years now.

Indeed that is my original post, I said they're the dumbest does not mean they're dumb just means dumber then the rest. It's not like the whole team is a bunch of morons either, the spine is one of the best in the NRL and have a few class players in Lyon and Stewart. Have a great young talent in Taufua and a finisher on the right in Williams. However stupid plays cost them last night, in other games it's not as noticeable as they aren't always playing souffs who will punish them for their mistakes.

All of those clubs are more physical and composed than us.

They'd punish us for penalties and potentially steamroll our pack, a la Canberra.

            We're a distant fourth.

I look at Melbourne and see Craig Bellamy has taken players, hell our rejects, like Sisa Waqa and Jason Ryles and turned them into elite players. Add to that the big three.

Manly has the Diceman and Lyon, hard bastards like Watmough, King and Kite and some speed with Wolfie and Taufua.

We have some serious quality in Maloney, Jennings and, of course, SBW but we also have some serious liabilities. There are players at the Roosters who are likely to lose you a match as the rest of the team would win it.

And I'm not talking about Anthony Minichello.
                SUPER DRAGON!

This is the key to our fortunes this year. We were beaten in the Souths game before we got our second penalty. It was 1-6 when the game was over. We were beaten in the second half against Canberra on the back of a 1-6 second half penalty shellacking.

These whopping penalty counts are common throughout the season, but very rarely do you see them in finals football. An even penalty count in these games is all we need to win.

Manly aren't stupid, they're thugs. That's why everyone hates them.

And I'm stupid for not keeping it simple and replying with that mate.

                      Well said.

The KISS method, Keep It Simple Stoopid.

I used to get told that by coaches when I thought I was a 5/8 in a props body.

I still get told that and I don't even play league anymore.

We verse Manly during round 15 which is Origin period where Pearce, BBQ's and Jennings will be out against Manly without Snake and possibly Whatnow, Gstewart and distant possibilities such as Taufua and Lyon(last hurrah?)

This will be a massive test IMO. the first origin we have against Eels which is a must win, not as an eyebrow-raiser but to save embarassment. IMO easy win. The last origin game we have the Shonkies with Gallen and possibly Wade Graham, Luke Lewis or Fifita out.

That means 2/3 in my eyes

I'm just happy we are winning, a massive improvement from last year and will be stoked if we make the semi's.
