Lots of good points boys, last nights game, between Manly and Souths showed we are not at that stage just yet, but if we continue to improve, we are not far off it. That score , was not a true indication of the game, with an once of luck Manly would of had at least 5 tries on the board at halftime, and a completely different game would of unfolded. In the end frustration and pot plant errors played their part in getting beaten, as much as Souths did.

Personally I'd think it more likely someone like RTS would be more chance of moving to 6 if a long term injury occurred.

Both teams will feature heavily at the end of the season, as will Melba.
But we are a bees dick off those 3 sides and IMO we have a lot more scope for improvement. Can't wait to see us play those other sides, see how we handle the step up in class and intensity.

Morons IMO dont win GFs too often. Especially dumb teams. Who have won 2 in recent times.
Their blokes walk the line, that's their style, it may not be your cup of tea but it seems to work for them. I wouldn't be unhappy with their last 5 or so years.
Calling them a dumb team is out there IMO. But hey whatever floats your boat mate.

We don't have to beat either Manly or Souffs or Melb with brutality, all we have to do is match them until our ruck speed and fitness kicks in and we overpower them, just as we've done all year.
We play with a high intensity for 80 mins, that's become our strength. We match sides in the first 20-40 mins and then power away from them in most aspects of the game. Canberra being a blip.
Chook.

How many times did you see them do an offload without looking that just went to ground, or out, or picked up by souffs? At least twice I saw lyon or the wolfman made a half break and just kick ahead resulting in a dead ball. They attacked a lot like the Eels when we played them.
As I said in another post, woManly played badly in attack and their tough guy tactics didn't work either, but with 10 to go Souffs were laying cable cos woManly were looking like they may slip that one out of their arses.
Dumb clubs don't do that, play like busteds but almost win, against one of the comps form teams.
Remember round one against Souffs. We played alot better than woManly last night and never really looked close to Souffs that night.
I have massive respect for woManly. That club is constantly in the news for the wrong reasons, they have always had big injury tolls and fight internally like school kids. But every year they are competitive. Every year they win tough and beat sides that are supposedly better on paper. They are carnts but I respect the way they do business.
Honestly calling them a dumb club is dumb IMO.
I'd love Easts to be as dumb as them.

Really pushed???
Those clubs have been doing the high intensity stuff for at least 2 seasons now, more for woManly and Melba. Our test is playing them and trying to keep pace with them. I'm looking forward to it but it will be brutal. Won't be any 50-0 romps I dare say.
I have memories of many being over confident before round 1 this year.
Looking forward to the next month.
