Never underestimate a fear factor up front. Luckily we have Jazza now, but just in case we need another, I would be interested in someone like a Russell Packer from NZ joining our ranks. He's another you wouldn't want to cross paths with.
we actually gave him an offer in 07 or 08 but he knocked it back to stay at NZ. Hes loaded with potential but don't think we need him when were already congested with props

I think the best way to beat the vermin is spin it wide rather than take them on up front if not then we play into their hands - they luv the heavy stuff and no team against them has decided to go wide- we can burn they off the park and they won't expect it

They burn us with quick play the balls. We need to dominate them in defence and slow them down.

I don't know if this has been brought up much before but just think about a Roosters v Souths GF.

A long way off but it would be beyond epic. They'd have people hanging off the roof of the stadium at Homebush to see it.

Would be either the best/worst day of most fans of both clubs' lives!

He hasn't done too much with the ball to be honest.

I don't think he has played badly but certainly not the player we know he can be.

                Add Newcastle to that list'

I will answer your question like this, the Roosters are a far better side under Robinson who has a really really good roster, from my observations this year Robo is about having the players getting down & getting dirty, putting their bodies on the line in defence as a united unit. When or if you are a top 3 defensive side there is a very high chance you will finish in the top 4. You will have to wait till Sept to know who they will be.

Robbo has bought spirit to the joint & when ever there is spirit in the team & the majority of the boys like each other success will come. Souths, Melbourne & Newcastle are in the same boat, I think.

all of the rabbitohs, the sea eagles and the storm are beatable.
we showed in round 1 that, as unco-ordinated and unused to each other as we were, we were still able to break the line more than souths and threaten.
on Thursday, the warriors showed that Melbourne can be beaten with creative football as long as its combined with discipline. that's why the warriors have a good record against Melbourne, they play attacking, creative football, and in previous years they've had the defensive discipline to back it up.
Manly aren't going to be beaten up the middle, once again, side to side, attacking footy will beat them.

but enough of that, last time we got ahead of ourselves, we were run down by Canberra. let's focus on Penrith next weekend.

Indeed and the Knights are not on our or the aforementioned teams level IMO.

the knights and the titans are the dark horses of the competition, imo.
they probably don't have the class to get into the top 4 or challenge for the comp, but they will throw in an upset or two.

I forgot to mention luck & not getting any of your top shelf players injured long term. That always helps.

Yes, a big call stsae, and only on a Maloney injury.
Very impressed on Langi's Trial form, U20's form and his game for Tonga v Samoa.

Once he has a couple of weeks in firsts, and if Maloney came back, I'd back Langi to cement a bench spot.

IMO Langi would be playing first grade at most other clubs

                              Agreed.

                              The better sides are bigger.

Even Canberra's pack managed to get it over us.

It's an old problem with our club. We always seem to have mobile forwards at the expense of steamrollers.
