Im confident we can beat the Storm. I also think the Storm have the game to beat Souths given their wrestle in the ruck to slow Souths down and the big three.

So i think if we are to win the comp, which we certainly can, then i reckon we have to avoid the Rabbits. I felt the same in 2010. That we were a serious shot to win the comp; but i felt to do so we had to avoid the Dragons who clearly had our measure.

Thoughts? How can we beat the Rabbits? Game plans, people. Game plans!

Given they are into their second year, and we are 7 games in you are probably right.

Fortunately this discussion isn't needed until Round 26. We'll be well on our way by then.

I can't argue with you mate. At the moment anyway. Maybe next year if we keep the same team, same enthusiasm, same defensive efforts, and an even better attacking cohesive-ness (if thats a word).

If all the top four held their form that they have now til september, then souffs are premiers.

But with 17 games to go, an origin series, injury and suspensions will play a part in every team, inglis is unstoppable at the moment. Hopefully all teams stay fit and a true winner is found.

There are some interesting points that need to be considered here.

. I have seen it posted elsewhere, if $ouff$ win we will never know if they are good enough, they are getting such a free ride.
. Have they peaked, Madge has increased the size, the commitment and the skill but a duck is still a duck and their players are dumber than the average. Are they actually capable of getting any better.

This will be the true test of madge as a coach. They will be figured out, if he has the ability to over come this then he is a genius.

I have often thought of this and I agree, and it worries me. We can beat Storm and Manly, but am still unsure about Souffs.

Best case scenario is that one of them knock them out in the Semis.

I know it is a defeatist attitude, but I would rather not be in the GF than lose to them in the GF.

Having said that, to win against them all we have to do is match their pack, we have the backs to score the points.

Souths are like most good teams, one serious injury and they may struggle, I think teams have been trying to put the wrong player on their head, if they loose Reynolds they will struggle big time.

IMO Spadge is the real deal and so are Souffs. You don't beat woManly and The Wankos away 2 weeks running if you're shit.

Luke is the dumbest player I've ever seen. And at times the most talented. Bizarro.

so i can only assume you didnt watch the whole game v drongos. both teams found out each other tonite.
drongos v warren were very tough but when the push came to shove towards the end(mid 2nd half) both teams exposed what they had. warren had a spread it wide in attck and a compressed d.

drongos are fcuked....ooopppppssss


drongos had a up the middle , inside style bidazzle play.(x raiders in the early 90s type)

both exposed the weakness of the oppo and nearly both scored tries except for the lack of ability(hhhhmmmmmm committment)

we will roll warren and his merry cavity trolls or gerballs , what ever you chooose to call them.

warrens merry forwards gave up half way thru the 2nd half and thats the striking piont...

I think where the games againt them would b won will be the middle ...

There pack is massive yet mobile... we would need our forwards to stand.. i think having LOD +SBW both in better form

I don't see why Souths are some big super team to everyone, Sure they're great but they are sloppy, there was about 3 drop balls in the first 10 minutes. They have a quality forward pack, a lock in a 5/8 jersey, an overrated halfback, a mistake ridden but great hooker, 1 good outside back and well Inglis, who is just Inglis. All you have to do is run out their big forward pack with hard straight runs with offloads (provided by JWH and SBW), and then let our backs do their magic. They are well coached but they lack talent on their fringes (barring merritt) and our fringes/backline is where we excel. Of course it's easier said than done, but they're beatable.

Souths were made to look good tonight against Brisbane.

I think any of the other top 4 (storm, manly, roosters, dogs) would have beaten them.

Brisbane might have well not bothered coming out for the second half if that's all they had.

Agree with some of the posts above. I would really question if Souths have the brains to win a comp.
