Souffs played a fringe top 8 team last night, we smashed the broncos. If we play them with all our big boys on fire tasi in for Guerra and maybe even another big big for Morts we could take them. We have danger all over the park, they have kicks size and GI, injjuries will decide who wins the big one come GF time.

Souths are definitely the ref's favourites this season, they get every 50/50 call going, and then some. Inglis is the key to beating them, a mainly young Bronco's side was handling them ok, until Inglis stepped up to the mark, they couldn''t handle him, and he made them pay. They are very beatable, make no mistake about that, and Maguire has done a great job with them, so its panning out to be an interesting season, for both sides.

Why would we try to play to their strength and play them through the middle?

Smiff had the best plan against Souffs. Lots of dummy half running and early kicks to turn their big boys around.

Lol, we didn't quite smash the Broncos, and we played them at home without their 40,000 home crowd. I wouldn't be talking about playing fringe top 8 teams just yet, we have only played one of the top five teams and that was Souths, while Souths have played all the top contenders and only lost to the storm by 7, whether you want to believe or not, they are the real deal but they can be vulnerable like every team, no one in this competition is infallible.

Due to the intense rivalry between the Roosters and souffs, we have much more incentive than other teams to beat them. In saying that, so do they. Both teams know the hatred their supporters have for the opposition which would definitely lift them to rip in. Russell Crowe is a disrespectful c**t towards us which would again boost our players. Even when were crap last year there was nothing between them. By rights they should've won convincingly both times.

Injuries aside, by round 26 it'll be even money, for mine.

Souffs are a one man team. If anything happens to Inglis they are gone.

I'm not sure about this, manly bashed him and they still won, I think Reynolds maybe more critical to their performance.

+ reynolds. As we all saw last year when they lost reynolds aganist the dogs they panicked. Sutton didnt know what to do , didnt step up. And the dogs ran all over them. Reynolds has a massive impact on souths, as does inglis but without your chief playmaker your not gonna have any structures in attack imo

It ended up being Inglis' try that turned the game against Manly.

He is a great player but at the end of the day he is a big bloke. If they can make him chase the ball around, they will tire his legs which will affect his output.

I wish that we were playing souffs tomorrow. I honestly think that we would beat them, and that is after putting my hate for souffs bias to one side.

In round one we are a completely different team to the one we are now, with regards to our combo's in attack and defense. Even in round one, we weren't completely blown out of the water. We were beaten by 18 points and we came back towards the end of the match.

I think that people have underrated our demolishing of the bullgrogs and the drags. Both of them were tough teams regardless of their personnel present. Both were huge games and in the opening exchanges both of those teams were hitting the line hard. Our forward pack dominated those two teams and opened them up for the backline to attack in the second half of the game.

We are the real deal and our team will win a comp this year.

A monster pack that has the potential to overwhlem us
                        + quick play the balls
+ Issac Luke out of dummy half
+ Greg Inglis' kick returns and threat on the back of said ruck dominance
                        + Adam Reynolds kicking game

= the perfect recipe for defeating us.

Im confident we can beat the Storm. I also think the Storm have the game to beat Souths given their wrestle in the ruck to slow Souths down and the big three.

So i think if we are to win the comp, which we certainly can, then i reckon we have to avoid the Rabbits. I felt the same in 2010. That we were a serious shot to win the comp; but i felt to do so we had to avoid the Dragons who clearly had our measure.

Thoughts? How can we beat the Rabbits? Game plans, people. Game plans!

All they have over us is Inglis.
Bring them on so we can smash them!!!

                          Yes thankyou.

I thought against the gronkos last night their defence was quite exposed by a rubbish broncos attack. Especially out wide. A lot of their players were running out of the line too early and Scott Prince took advantage of that and ran through a massive gap.

Against Sea Vermin, the refs turned that game around for them bigtime. Sea vermin got slaughtered by the men in pink.

Playing them in the forwards will see us play into there hands - some dummy half running perhaps but I would play it wide and with a smart kicking game by putting it into touch rather than give it to Inglis then we are more than a 50 50 chance of beating them.

As tough as it is to admit, Soufffffs are absolutely the real deal. The last two weeks, winning away at Manly and Brisbane, have proved that.

I felt the same in 2010 as the OP - have never cheered the Tigers harder than in their semi against the Dragons because I knew we would win the GF against them.

                              Still, anything can happen.

Robbo seems a smart coach, hopefully he can develop a game plan to stop them. And also, any injury to Reynolds or Inglis late in the year and they are gone, they are hugely reliant on two players and I think we can cope with injuries better than them.

Well said Ghost. Souths have proven themselves far more than we have atm. And they are hugely reliant on those two players but we have to assume they'll be fit and firing come finals time.

We'll know exactly where we are at in a month after trips to Brookie and Townsville in the space of 5 days followed by a home game vs the Storm. 0-3, 1-2 and 2-1 are all equally likely scenarios imo. If we win at Brookie, which we never do, then the PM should declare a national holiday.

Finally, we have some seriously deluded fans. People are still calling Sutton average? He's been one of the form players in the comp and has killed pretty much everyone this year. We have improved a lot since Rnd 1 and have much more left in us. But as it stands they BELTED us in Rnd 1...no need to sugar coat it. Our pack was reamed. And unless the likes of MK show some more punch off the bench i dont hold much hope of JWH and Moa being able to carry the load against their big boys.
