Exactly... we're not even playing them soon! We're playing the Riff and that's our focus.

      We are going okay..

      $ouFF$ are going better..

      ATM..

I see where you are coming from Tommy..

It's looking extremely likely that we'll meet in September & we've got to keep improving to have a chance of getting them..

But i see more scope for improvement in our team than theirs..

I also see more areas we can exploit in their game, than they can in ours..

It's "strange days indeed" dealing with $ouFF$ being a threat...

      Most peculiar mamma..

Jason Clark, Adam Reynolds and Nathan Merrit are all vermin born and bred. What does that have to do with this thread???
          Comment of the year:

At some stage this year, we will get into a form drop. How long it lasts and when it is we shall see. Will be interesting to see how Robbo gets us out of it. Next year will be even better methinks.

Yes....we tend to have problems with bigger packs (look at what the Raiders did to us in the second half)?
But I think we have a far greater problem against the top teams.......our inability to force repeat sets via grubber kicks into the in-goal?
All Pearce (and Anasta) can do is put up high bombs.....and that is a lottery (one that statistically has made us look silly).
Against a team like Souths with Reynolds or the Storm with Kronk........I fear we will be camped defensively in our own 20 metre zone for long periods thus tiring our gallant defense.
This is our Achilles Heel and I don't know why Pearce can't learn the grubber skill after all these years?
This also seems to allude Maloney although he appears to be working at it?

Yeah yeah souffs are to big to tuff to strong, fast. Just wait till the semis & they don't get their usual 9 penaltys a game & they actually have to work for their meters they won't get past week 2. BTW they touched us up in Rd1 It'll be a different story later this year. And exactly what have souths won in the last 30yrs or so ?

In the name of all that's holy how is it relevant what Souths have won in the last 30 years?

Im simply stating that Souths have the team to beat us this year. On any given day we are more than capable of toppling them. But until MK and LOD show more than they have then ive seen nothing to suggest that they wont steam roll us again just like they did in Rnd 1.

Thankfully Robbo wont have his head up his own arse to this obvious fact like most of our fans.

You obviously havent been watching us to closely the last few weeks, maybe you've had your head up your arse.

Anyway i'm sick of all this vermin love. Farks souffs, fark the filthy vermin, we definitely have a team more than capable of rollIng them.

                      GO EASTS!

Exactly, and I hardly think our coach is worrying about souffs after 8 rounds anyway...

Their defence can be very flimsy at times and their consistency throughout games is very patchy. Hard to be critical of a 7/8 record but I think there's still a lot of question marks over them.

I honestly think they'll falter come finals if they don't improve big time in these two areas.

being honest, the only time ive seen them falter is when adam Reynolds tore his hammy in the semi against the dogs last year. souths, and particularly Sutton, went to water. Sutton is a myth. he's shit, he always has been, and is only being made to look good by Reynolds.

So they didn't falter leading 34-12 against Penrith only to have the Panthers bring it back to 34-32 inside the last 10? They didn't falter last night leading 8-0 to go in at half time down 12-8? They didn't falter against Manly leading 20-0 to have them within striking distance 20-12 with 10 to go? They didn't falter leading the Warriors 18-6 at half time only to find themselves down 22-18 with 15 to go?

A sceptic might suggest you must have had your eyes closed most of the season!

I would hardly call letting in 2 consecutive tries faltering when you still win. To the original poster, when you realise the posters here, myself included hate souffs and that a lot of people who commented whilst roosters fans show on a daily basis that they don't understand the game at all, don't expect too many intelligent responses. Personally I think where they have the clear edge is being able to bring a beast like George Burgess, whilst we run out the likes of LOD and Marty 'teletubbie' Kennedy. This is our Achilles heel, our 3rd and 4th from rowers. They also have a halfback with a little extra composure and finesse than our own who can really expose our fullbacks struggle to prevent repeat sets from grubbers.

I still believe Melbourne despite today's loss is the team to beat but it is wishful thinking or just plain ignorance to believe Souffs are not a massive chance this year.
