I don't see the justification of keeping a few dead clubs alive in a badly run half arsed reserves comp that they could have anyways and did have called the Metro Cup.

      Doesn't make sense.

I agree. Im merely making the point that many on here carry on about newtown and going to the games etc so this is one point which definitely ought be made - bring back reserve grade, sayonara newtown. Im a Roosters supporter so I actually dont care. The only thing Id like to see is the 20s age limit lifted a year or two. There is enough dead weight in each NYC team anyway so its not like 'young talent' is being compromised

        Just doesn't happen.

They will sprout a billion excuses, the powers that used to be, NewsFilth, the real reason is $$$$.

        As always.

The wear and tear on a ground for a game of cricket is no wear near what it is for a league game mate.

Punt the 20's to park football and bring in the NSW cup as the opener

            Sure but.

30 hours of cricket over 4 hours of RL.

Dunno. Wouldn't be that far off IMO.

Personally I'm not talking 3 grades anyway. 2 grades as we have. 1st grade and reserves.

20s back to the park. NSW Cup survives. QLD Cup etc. Whatever it's all good.

Maybe age groups like the 80s, Harold Matts 15s, SG Ball 16-17s, Flegg 18-19s, Presidents Cup 20-21s.

I can't work out why that was ever changed??? Seemed to work.

It all changed when the broncos decided they didn't want to field a reserve grade team IMO. That opened the door for other clubs to **** off the same and then came along all the affiliation with other clubs.

              Harold matts is now 16's
              Sg ball is 17's
And I'm not 100% sure but I think the next level is u/20's.

Hope the league sort out the mess soon. 20's is shit quality footy and in this day an age where people want value for money, $30 to go watch 1 good game of footy and pay overs for food and drinks plus parking just doesn't cut it. I bet more people would go to games (I'm not talking thousands more) if there was better quality games before first grade.

At times I still think it was a huge mistake letting QLD teams like the Broncos into the comp.

                BTW SG Ball is U18s
