Good news for him. He is a nice bloke. Met him quite a few times when he was playing with the Jets last year. A respectful gentleman who is now finding his place in our team. He really does add something when he comes on.
So happy for him.Member 2008 - forever

Since he has been with us he has deserved a spot in the 17 and would shine in all the NSW cup games. Its about time he has been injected properly into the game. He is going to be invaluable to us come back end of the season.

The Sydney Roosters are pleased to announce that Daniel Mortimer has signed a two-year extension, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2015 season.
“I feel so comfortable here at the Roosters. I’m really enjoying being part of the team and have made some great friends here, on and off the footy field,” said Mortimer.
“The club’s been great to me, I know my role and I’m learning so much – and that’s a big part of the reason I really wanted to stay at the club. I’m excited that I’ll continue to represent the Roosters for a further two years,” he added.
Roosters Head Coach, Trent Robinson, was delighted to have Mortimer secured in the Club’s long-term plans.
“Daniel is a true clubman. He is a valued contributor to our club and a quality person on and away from the footy field. Apart from sharing the hooking role with Jake friend, Daniel gives us great depth in our halves, making him an invaluable member of our squad.
“His best footy is still ahead of him and we are very pleased to have Morts on board for a further two years,” he said.
23 year-old Mortimer has appeared in every Roosters game so far this season. He joined the Roosters in 2012 and captained the Roosters feeder side, Newtown Jets, in their 2012 NSW Cup victory.
He made his club debut in the opening round of the 2012 season against the South Sydney Rabbitohs after making his NRL debut with the Parramatta Eels (Round 12, vs. Cronulla Sharks, 30/5/09).

Congrats to the young bloke, he's really earned this contract renewal, hard worker & now that Robbo is using him to show his strengths, he has an important role in the team, I was certainly not a believer previously, but the humble pie tastes pretty good with this development.
