No, we should sign him because he can play the game, and he is Horries son into the bargain. As well, he is only 17. Tyler Cornish is 19, Pearce is 25. Mortimer is 24. In 4 years time when he is coming out of U/20's who's to say where all those players will be. I could understand that thinking if the kid was 21, but I think it would be very short sighted to stop recruiting talented playmakers simply because we have Mitchell Pearce and a couple of other blokes playing in those positions.

It would be great having Horries son in the club, but would it be the best thing for his career, Iám not sure it would be.
would rather him than ben jones at the jets

Agree roz. I said when we signed Cornish he was rubbish. I can only think they were hoping he would be a late developer and morph into his brother!

We have heaps of room for Hasting for at least the next three years. He can play SG Ball again next season, then graduate to 2 years in 20's. We will know by then whether or not he's the real deal.

Exactly. Also dont forget than maloney is 27 this year so by the time jackson turns 20, maloney will already be 30. We will certainly be able to make room for any good player imo

well said bronte chook.stae usually has some ok things to say here but completely out of line about horrie.

I never said I disliked Horrie.

I just don't remember him like many others do.

IMO he's on par with DaFunchy and PearceOrf in many facets of the game.

Hard workers who are not overly skilful but always give 100%. Great clubmen.

Sorry you all wanna tear up, but that's my opinion. I'm not bagging anyone else's opinion. I'm just stating mine.

Was it cos I said DaFunchy???

I knew that would crack a few.

In all honesty, Finch and Pearce wouldn't be fit to wipe a skerrick of dirt from the underside of Hastings boots! He single handedly kept us competitive in 1983 after Fulton tore the heart out of our side and very nearly got us into the finals. Peter Sterling rates him as one of the toughest competitors he has faced and I remember reading in his book where he thought Hastings suffered because he was the only playmaker in our team whereas Sterlo had the luxury of having players like Kenny, Ella and Price to relive the pressure.

Stsae, I respect your right to your opinion, but that doesn't mean I have to respect your opinion and in this instance I just can't. Hastings was way better then what you are giving him credit for.

Sign him because of his talent, not his surname.

                            Chook.

                              I loved Horrie.

                              I was just geeing up.

I knew the Funch stuff would get a few reactions.

I wonder if we were to jag a comp with PearceOrf in the 7 would he be viewed in a similar vein by our fans???

                              Fancy sucking in Teabags.

I have seen Cornish play twice and in both those games he had multiple try assists and didn't look too bad with the ball in hand. If anything he was probably at a similar standard to Pearce in NYC who was solid but nothing special in that grade.
