A player can't be sent to the bin for a high tackle. It's either a send off or nothing.

It's a stupid rule but that's the way it is.

I'm just using it to highlight the inconsistency of the officiating. JWH got sent off last week (Against another prop). Last night Dave Taylor near took Peter Wallace's (120kg monster v weedy half) head off and only got a penalty.
Problem is, dave taylor wasn't wearing red, white and blue.
        What about Idris' high shot?
If there's another send off this year I'll be amazed, unless of course JWH takes on rose again.
        Inconsistency indeed.

As for sims, was there a replay of his tackle on Pearce? I don't recall seeing one if there was a replay. Had it been a similar tackle by a Rooster on thurston, I suspect it would have been replayed from six angles twelve times.

i liked the way the ref called zero from a kick off, run return.

a zero tackle is from a knock on or an error from the attacking team, and the recient player who has the ball and doesnt pass it of lose the ball is the zero
an extra play for the cowards.

oh yeh and marty has to run straight as he tries to step like rts and he wipes all his forward momentum from his attack

Could not believe Sims wasn't penalised for the high shot on Pearce!!! If Pearce had stayed down, he would have been penalised and placed on report. Glad to see our players not trying to milk penalties by staying down, but frustrated that no penalty was awarded

If Pearce had stayed down, Sims was liable to be sent off on saturday night. first contact was shoulder straight the the head, and he left the ground so you can't claim he didn't mean to hit him high.

Sims also clobbered Maloney in the face and busted his lip wide open when smashing him after a kick, also for no penalty.

Essentially we got robbed of 2 clear penalties simply because our halves aren't dive taking cats like Adam Reynolds or Peter Wallace

Bird was actually binned because of "repeated offences" by the Titans with high shots. I clearly heard the ref say so when he marched him. He had just warned them about it after a previuous penalty, and then when Bird made that tackle (which looks rather similar to JWH's in that vision), he was sent for what was, essentially, a team foul.

You guys mean that to say, there is no consistency in the NRL refereeing ????

                  Who woulda thunk it ????

ask 2v about the refs. i think he will get a $5k fine after last nights rant over the lop sided reffing against the protected cheats.

As much as I hate the seas vermin, I love watching Hasler and Toovey at press conferences.
