the better we get with minimising handling errors and improving discipline means the less we have to endure down our own end.
You're sort of missing the point. I believe that we HAVE improved our discipline - it's just that the referees are so busy penalising us, they haven't noticed it yet. A typical 'can't see the wood for the trees' scenario.
