  • I hope the Roosters forget who they are playing'

I sometimes get the feeling that teams clam up when they play Melbourne. I hope the boys treat the Storm just like they would any other team. I feel if they play their natural game on Saturday, they'll win well. The Storm are off their game at the moment and given the form of our team anything other than a win will be hugely disapointing.

I hope they do realise who they are playing - the storm.
I would much rather see a team with the mental attitude of wanting to stand up for the big games rather than one with the attitude of 'if we don't see them, they cant scare us'.

but then again, glass half ...

They have suffered amnesia for the past 3 weeks, I dont think anything will change....

Agreed... although that's my feeling every week. You have to respect your opposition and see them as a challenge otherwise they'll eat you for lunch no matter who they are.

FWIW how good are the Storm though? I might be biased but when I look at the teams on paper, our boys are more than competitive. SBW, Jennings, Maloney and Pearce are at very least of comparable ability to the Storm's big 3. When you factor in guys like RTS, JWH, SKD (on a good day), LOD (historically) and Mini (compared to Sisa W@nka)... We are definitely a chance against them.

we are more than a chance we will go on to win this game then scare the tripe out of the rest of the comp by doing so in fact im sure the bye week after are already copnceding us the two points?

We cannot be complacent, they are the reigning premiers. If you are not up for a game against the defending premiers you almost wont be up for any game. Outside of the big 3 the rest of the Melba line-up appears average on paper, but last year they appeared average on paper apart from the big 3 and still won the comp.

Having said that we will beat them by 12 tomorrow.

Coggy I totally get what you're saying, I just think the coach has them thinking so straight & confident that it doesn't matter who they are playing, they will turn up & defend very strongly, my only worry is defending the Cronk & Smith kicking game, that's where we need to be more desperate.
