I was just about to make the same thread

yeh he had a good game today. Ran hard and straight. Will be better then Shack. I thought he scored a try! but then he got called held up :l. O well lol.

He had a great game today.

Also does anyone know if that tackle he did will be a suspension? or at least think so. I hope not....

I love his aggression, I hope no one tries to coach it out of him. Manly looked the better team when he was out there.

I liked the way he ran hard and didn't take a step backwards.

I would like to see his mins played, I am a little worried he went missing for a while

O'Sullivan's first good buy......why have Melbourne continued to shit out great young kid after young great kid even with him gone!? I think we got duped - I always wondered why Melbourne let him go so easily, who is the real superstar recruiter down there?

O'Sullivan's issue I think, is that he is a bit of a showpony.

Sure, his retention has been great for us, as we have now built an established foundation on young Roosters-made players, while being led by the experience of Minichiello, Anasta, etc.

But other than some of the more obviously good kids that he has signed (Leilua, Linnett, Waerea-Hargreaves, Cordner, Williamson were all obvious standouts), a lot of his signings have been straight out of the left field. The issue is, he has abandoned his ways of signing solid first graders from other clubs like he did at Storm (Ben Cross, Garrett Crossman, Chris Walker, Anthony Quinn, Steve Turner, etc) because he loved the media attention he got from pulling Inglis and Folau out of nowhere and then watching them become superstars overnight.

Look at some of the strange signings he has made for us:

                Albert Hopoate - mormon mission
                Willie Brown - JB Cup
                Jordan Tansey - ESL benchie
                Daniel Howard - ACT rugby
                Tevita Folau - park footy
                Jai Ayoub - Tigers Flegg
Gary Natoealofa - Bartercard Cup 2nd Division
Brent Grose - french rugby league
Chris Beattie - french rugby league
Smith Samau - Tweed Heads QLD Cup (cut by Titans)
Sisa Waqa - Gordon rugby union
Aiden Guerra - Central Coast NSW Cup (cut by Storm)
JP Du Plessis - South African rugby union

Look from Smith Samau and upward. Were ANY of these players successful at all?

I can guarantee that most of these are simply attempts for him to try and spot amazing talent in obscurity, thus giving him credibility for unearthing a 'diamond from the rough'. However, I feel that there is probably more talent, and less risk, by simply picking solid but undervalued first graders, like a Nathan Smith, a Joel Reddy, or a Jerome Ropati, and giving them an increase in responsibility and leadership. Less media attention, but better results!

                  Tolman a POS? Riiiiiiight.
Tomane has something our club doesn't have......SPEED and the ability to finish.
Chambers is going to rugby, was rock solid last season - up and down this season.
                  Procter is solid.
Nielsen looks like he has been a first grade winger for 5 seasons........reminds me of Vidot from Canberra, both are guns.
Widdop the full back in Toyota Cup......another really good player.

The list goes on and on.......check our their Toyota Cup team, they just continue to recruit the best juniors down to that place whilst we have finished 15th in the first two seasons of that comp.

                  Come on O'Sullivan!

EDIT: BTW: Does POS stand for Peter O'Sullivan or piece of shit? Haha.

all the blokes coming through now are the product of POS. what you blokes fail to realise is that this guy signs the best young talent at harold matts and sg ball level and builds them up through the grades. He has been gone from melbourne for 2 years and thats why the last crop of sg ball guys he recruited are now around 20 years of age so they are still hitting first grade. He has made heaps of great signings its just that most of them have been into the sg ball set up so the true value of POS wont be felt for at least another couple of years.

Honestly, I am very happy with what O'Sullivan has done in:

                          - cutting guys who clearly had no future at the club (Soliola, Shackleton, Brown, Sa?)
                          - re-signing a tonne of younger blokes to long term contracts to build a foundation (Friend, Pearce, Cherrington, Jones, Perrett, SKD, Nuuausala, Symonds, M Aubusson, Myles, Sa?)
                          - signing some graduating talent from the NYC competition as depth + potential first graders (Tuigamala - Panthers winger, Maori - Sharks centre, Linnett - Dragons centre, Naughton - Raiders fullback, Waerea-Hargreaves - Manly prop, Takairangi - Rabbitohs backrow)
                          - recruiting a hard-headed experienced prop to lead the pack (Nutley 2007, O'Meley 2008-2009, Ryles 2010?)

Each one of those are the signs of a good recruitment officer. Cutting deadwood, re-signing our homegrown players to long term contracts, recruiting wisely from the NYC for youthful and talented depth, and making sure the front row always has one experienced hardman to toughen the boys up.

                          My issues with O'Sullivan are:

                          - Willie Mason (his signing, I feel, was on the books before O'Sullivan was even aboard, but regardless, Mason's signing has cost us Harrison, Tupou and Fitzgibbon for each year of his contract)
                          - the Bulldog obsession? (we lose Morley at the end of 2006, then sign Myles for 2007...we lose Harrison & Nutley at the end of 2007, then sign Mason & O'Meley for 2008...we lose Tupou at the end of 2008, then sign Kouparitsas for 2009...we lose Fitzgibbon at the end of 2009, then sign Conn for 2010...see a trend?)
                          - Todd Carney (as good as he probably can be, he will not only disrupt a settled halves combination, with Anasta's move to lock tilting the team balance, but his off-field record in not exactly clean)
                          - wasting cap space on unusual 'diamond in the rough' signings (Hopoate, Ayoub, Folau, Grose, Brown, Guerra, Beattie, Natoealofa, Ayoub, Howard, Waqa, etc.)

What are you talking about? He came from Union!!! He was churned out by the Waratahs Academy...

Didn't even make Super 14's (although probably would have) then was poached by League.
