I know that we signed St George-Illawarra Dragons SG Ball and Australian Schoolboys lock-forward Joseph Leilua as well, that is 5 very talented young kids.

Didn't even make Super 14's (although probably would have) then was poached by League.

The reason Melbourne is still churing out these good kids in first grade is because of POS.
They were signed under him and developed.
POS has not had a effect on this club yet, and it will be a while.
The problem with this club is there is no good structure left to develop young kids. Harold Matts has been neglected as has SG Ball in the last year or 2.
We have been relying on the NYC and will do for too long, which is a mistake.
The club is stuff and it will take a while before we can back to a respectible state.
Politis and the other halfwits have well and truly screwed the club for the sake of money. The Internet is a place for posting silly things
Try and be serious and you will look stupid

Neglected the SG Ball? We won it last year, but hardly any of the names seem to have gone on to OUR Toyota Cup squad......which ether did they get sucked into?
Melbourne's SG Ball team made the Grand Final this season......and 15 of the 17 were Victorian born, be interesting to see how they progress.

Well so far, O'Sullivan has bought us 6 players from the NYC competition to bring into the FG squad:
This year
Sonny Tuigamala (Panthers winger)
Tu'u Maori (Sharks centre)
and next year...
Kane Linnett (Dragons centre)
Brad Takairangi (Souths backrow)
Steve Naughton (Raiders fullback)
Jared Waerea-Hargreaves (Manly prop)
But I am more interested to see how the SG Ball signings we make, to play in our U20s team, perform. These are the players we will bring through the system:
This year
Tom Pelo (Tigers SG Ball prop)
Andrew Haines (Dragons SG Ball winger)
Boyd Strickland (Bulldogs SG Ball backrower)
Tim Burrell (Bulldogs SG Ball backrower)
and next year...
Joseph Leilua (Dragons SG Ball lock)

Andrew Clayton (24 games), Isaac Maliota (24 games), Jerome Leolahi (23 games), Olireti Samuela (22 games), Sam Brunton (21 games), Brad Murray (14 games), Ryan Williamson (11 games), Matt Hands (7 games then injured), Cyprian Ale (2 games), and Keith Masima (1 game) all played some U20's for us this season.
Royce Hura (Eels - 24 games), Daniel Cross (Eels - 15 games), and George Vuna (Warriors - 8 games) have all gone to play for other teams, but have still featured in NYC this year.Last edited by The Mack; 09-12-2009, 11:11 AM.
