Yeah I guess he already has the job and the big question is why sack a guy with a lot of test experience who has shown awesome discipline on and off the field.

I give him big points for taking a hit and walking the other day... TBH that shows you're really tough... the guy who can take a punch and walk off is always the guy I respect.

Sure... we sucked this season so it's easy to say he's past his time... but I HATE blaming one guy for poor performance. I think Anasta did all the right things according to what Freddie had told him to do, but the game-plan was poo. We just weren't prepared for the style of footy that was played in 2009, and all looked like a bunch of idiots. It really sucked!!! I bet it hurt more for the boys out there!!! We saw the same story every game... our boys would go out there all energetic and usually have a respectable score by 1/2 time. That said, we'd have 1000 000 penalties against us, 2% completions and 2% possession... we were using more energy than the opposition because we were doing so much work defending our line all game! By the end we just looked tired and lethargic, and the opposition just piled on the points in the last 20 or so while we sat around wishing the nightmare would end. Anybody who's played footy has had at least one game like that I reckon... we had a whole season of it!

If we perform well next season, it could be a triple-bypass for Anasta's career... last year our Origin squad failed badly... maybe time to recall Anasta and Mason if they can show some balls during the first 1/2 of the season.

do u reckon its worth having 2 captains, mason captain of forwards and braith captain of backs, i dno if its a waste of time but maybe giving mase some responsibility will give him a reason to hit form. Co captains have been used at a number of other clubs havent they?
I support two NRL teams, the Roosters and whoevers playing Souths

Good idea actually... I reckon Willie wants that kind of position... might make him perform if he's recognised as a leader.

We definitely need leadership out there. This season was a joke... we were a bunch of individuals out there, and got smashed by teams who played as teams! We just had about 3 or 4 guys doing all the work as individuals...

The Ghost must have had his smoke signals distorted when they sent him the news on that incident to his cave.

Technicalities on location aside Muz, birds of a feather flock together.
It struck me this year that whenever there was an off-field incident, Pearce was around, not necessarily the culprit, just around. Guilty by association? Perhaps. Has he done immature stuff that we haven't heard of due it not being widely reported? I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me given his age. I'm not trying to be critical here, he is young and he is entitled, under normal circumstances, to behave like an immature spoit brat. However, I wouldn't call his circumstances normal.

His off field bullshit is of more concern unfortunately, very very lucky boy at present.

But i agree, wouldnt the post match interview be a doozy, or his half time speech.
