Sam Burgess is actually off contract at the end of 2016 not 2014, he extended for 3 years during last season. Here is an article which states his reported current 4 year contract is for $262K per year on average.

I don't think anyone has anything against The Burgess fam. I don't think anyone's questioning their ability as footballers. And I haven't seen anyone bag Ms Burgess for her raising of her children.

The comments were made in relation to 300k salary for probably the best forward in the game today. And that the rest of his families moved here and presumably are all doing so for the love of Souffs, not financial reward.

Its making light of the obvious farce that Souffs have as a Salary Cap is the only intention. If Ms Burgess was Mr Burgess the joke would be the same.

Only speaking for myself it's not my intention to put Ms Burgess parenting skills down. Some of you really need a reality check. If I thought she was a bad parent I'd call her that.

They are completely missing the point, no one is saying that the mother of the burgess boys is a bad parent. She did fantastically well to raise 4 boys on her own, good for her well done. Does this then make it alright for her to play a significant role in the rorting of the cap with $ouff$?? Don't kid yourself otherwise, $ouff$ are 'THE' worst team in the comp at rorting the cap!! The burgess boys have a great scam going on with their mother and $ouff$ just absolutely love self managed players such as luke and teo as that makes it extra easy to slip them the bonus cash on the side!

No way in the world would I give sam burgess the satisfaction of giving him an offer to come to us, he can get completely f**ked!! When it comes to Cordner's defense he should raise the incident of the fight that took place in the $ouff$ vs manly game, where sam was throwing hay makers like a wild man out of control and of course sam was given no charge from that incident!

There was an article a couple seasons back stating that Burgess was only on some average sort of contract. Now we know thats all bull, but to justify to the public how Souffs weren't over the salary cap, they came out and said that Burgess was on around 300k per season ....so I think Ray is not far off with that figure.
Of course Sam's mother is on about 500K per season

I doubt if we have any real intentions of chasing Sam, but it'd be fun just the same to rattle their cage, by offering him say $400K a season, since he is only on $300K, according to Souths, so he should have no trouble accepting our offer, should he, Hhhhmmm.
I would be targeting George Burgess, if there was any real intention on our behalf, to secure a Burgess, he reminds me a lot of Moz, only a bigger version. Especially if SBW continues in his current form, which is just above Newtown standard the last couple of weeks, for the mega money, I need to see a lot out of him, or he'll be a one season Rooster, for mine.
