But again i do agree with you there is all ways a risk in signing players from other comps but its not he's ability thats the risk its how he will settle down in sydney. From watching him for the past 6 or 7 years he looks shorter than Graham not by much but he is more stocky and no doubt a tough bloke as is most of the French forwards. He is French and their international team is on par with Samoa or Tonga so its hard for him to be proven at an international level but he is one of the top props in Superleague and if you asked most fans of the clubs in England who would the rather have Moa or Casty i think the majority would say Casty. Also i know full well Trent Robison really rates the bloke and it wont be a come chance your hand in the Nrl type deal he will expect him to perform as well as he can.
Well said no one knew who Moa was and has become a leader in his first year I think Robbo knows more than all of us on here.

      Why do you say that?

Ability should matter more than size, surely?

mainly basing this off the Trent Robinson ideology that a team should have different body shapes etc mate. I am unsure of the ability component given its ESL and the youtube video here that some have linked made me think of him as an Arona type of forward; someone i don't particularly rate

        • I see this as Daniel Conn version 2. People bagged us for signing him and he turned out to be a great signing. Remy is the captain and forward leader of the dragons. I see it as a great signing by the club!

If it's purely based on body shapes then I definitely disagree.

JWH, Kennedy, Napa & Evans are all 190cm+

Moa & Remi will be the only props with a really low centre of gravity on the books.

Lol. The Pen has gone mad Headless. Apparently we can just sign whoever we want regardless of their contract status.

                  Agility.

Being a big bellied front rower is not good enough these days to be the best in the comp. You also need to have good footwork and be mobile and ready for offloads.

Most of our 110kg props are 190cm+ you've gotta remember. JWH is 193cm and 114kg.

I'd say we're looking at a bloke who is more solid than JWH but significantly shorter. Props don't need to leap for high balls and shorter = lower centre of gravity, so no big worries there regarding size.
Gallen seems to go ok at prop.

He wouldn't make NSW under 20s origin side!
It's a lot easier to make the QLD team eg.McQueen, Billy Moore, Ben Ikin etc.
I'd rather an angry bastard at prop than a 'top bloke'.

                          • I doubt Robbo is bringing this bloke to the NRL because he made a promise to bring him to the NRL. Robbo's credability is on the line.

                            • I reckon he'll be an absolute revelation.

As Fletch mentioned earlier, he'll be a perfect fit at lock forward. Great defender, excellent work ethic, not afraid to hit it up at pace, and apparently some good ball playing skills.

He'll prove to be a big upgrade on FPN. Robbo wouldn't bring him here if he thought otherwise.

                              • I like the look of this bloke. Basically anyone that Robbo thinks is good enough is certainly good enough. He looks like a mix between Brenton Lawrence and Cordner to me. Plenty of raw aggression. Hits the line hard with great foot speed and has a nice jink before it to split defenders. Also looks to have a heap of pace once he's through the line. Our front row stocks look exceptional for the future. I feel as though this spells the end for FPN and probably O'Donnell, although he has been quite good recently. It also might mean Tasi is cut loose at the end of the year if he's offered decent coin by other clubs. By next year we'll have an excellent mix of experience and raw talent. JWH and Moa will be the established bookends. Kennedy is improving and makes big metres every run and is a very good high workrate defender. If he gets these penalties out of the game he will be an excellent prop. Casty has plenry of experience and will play prop. At 100kg O'Donnell has proved a few wrong about the required weight of a prop. Casty foot speed and low COG would more than make up for his lower playing weight, in much the same way Moa's does.

Then you have you're next group. The blokes that will have played just a couple of first grade games but who have had a season or two of Jets duties under their belts. Once Evans' defence is completely ready he'll be a regular first grade prop. Napa may get a game or two off the bench this season and has shown great versatility in being able to cover the backrow as well. Isaac Liu has always impressed me. Will make a very good lock. Can play big minutes, great foot speed before the line and has a left arm carry that produces one of the best offloads you'll see. Trying to establish himself in first grade before he shows us what he is truly capable of. Excellent first grade standard defender too.

Then you have your young props that will come into reckoning if injuries occur. The two standouts for mine who have real first grade potential would be Brandon Tago and Louis Meehan. Both are giants with very big engines that bend the line every run. The 20s team lifts when these blokes are on. A lot of talk has been about the younger Meehan boy Willis, but Louis has been coming on and making over 100m consistently with only around 35 mins game time. In almost every game he has played this season I believe, and all off the bench. Willis will be an 80 minute wide running second rower and at 17, will be in first within 2 years imo. He's over 120kg and was considered quick enough to play Australian Schoolboys on the wing last year. And he hits like a 6"5 brick in defence. Very exciting future for our forwards. We've certainly worked ourselves into a great position with our retention and recruitment of late.
