  • Kennedy 18th man?

Moley reckons Kennedy is 18th man for Queensland...

He has been good going forward recently but some of the things he does in games would be punished big time in Origin.

Not really. his biggest weakness is that he doesn't get off the player after a tackle fast enough and refs are more lenient in Origin.

Please Mal, take Marty away from us so it forces Robbo's hand into playing someone different.

if he is 18th man he is still available for Friday night, he will just train with the QLD squad until Thursday head back for Fridays match against the dogs and then go back into camp with QLD.

it is so frustrating that Robbo won't give Evans a crack at first grade, our best football this year has been on the back of the momentum that JWH/Moa provided, O'Donnell/Kennedy just aren't the type of players to lay the physical platform Pearce/Maloney/SBW need to work their magic, our side could have benefitted greatly from the go forward Evans brings, even if it was for only two 15 minute spells each match.

Well with tamou gone we'll need all the help we can get for origin, for NSW to win.

This will help. Get him a XXXXL maroon skirt ready mal.

ha ha ha, it would be great experience and a real confidence boost for marty who would come back revitalised and aware of how quick he really can get off a player?

I dont know what the Qld selectors didn't see in Lilyman yesterday, he was outstanding.
I can only hope for the Blues sake that Qld pick Kennedy instead of Lilyman.

Even though I dont rate Kennedy having 4 players out this weekend is enough, unfortunately the Roosters need Kennedy this weekend so hopefully he doesn't get picked.

except that in the 8 minutes extra kennedy played he made 140m, lillyman only 89m to go with his 24 tackles to go against lilymans 19. I agree he still has some work to do but that is 2 weeks in a row he is putting in big metre/defence number efforts which is a good sign imo. Back on the bench in shorter bursts and he will thrive imo

Lilyman was quality comparred to quantity. I just wish Kennedy would grow a beard thats when he has played his best games.

Origin is a lot faster though. You only have to look at Warriors first try to see how slow he is in general play, let alone in the play the ball.

Of those 24 tackles the big fella made, how many were his usual third man in ill grab him low and lay on him until my teammates have to grab me by the jersey to get the f$&k off the ground?

Yep I bloody knew it would finally happen. Someone would bring out Marty's great stats from yesterday!!! Good on ya Roz. Now go back and watch the replay and have a look at how many of those magnificent metres were made by bringing the ball back from drop outs. He did at least 3 that I saw from halfway, meeting the defence on around the 20 to 25. There's 75 of his metres right there. Did he bend the line? No. Every time he ran the drop out back he ran at the line until about 5 metres from the defence. Then he noticibly slows, jinx and then hits the line at a slower pace, not dominating at all. It is all there to see in the replay.

Here is a message Marty. Watch Sam Moa run at the line. He runs as hard and as fast as he can and does not slow at all on impact. He gets to his feet as quick as possible and plays the ball. He puts the fear of god into defences. I love him.

Roz , stats do lie. In the case of MK, there is no doubt. I have heard him speak and he is obviously an intelligent , educated, young man. But on field, that changes. He is not footy smart. His own players know he is a liability in defence when lying all over players. It is dumb. He needs to go back and play for Newtown and learn discipline and the negative effect giving penaltys away has on your team.

Anyone who has the guts to play FG football deserves respect. And for that he has mine. But he is not playing well at all imo, is a liability to our team and I cannot believe he would be considered for QLD.

On the replay of our game I just watched he got blamed for the first Warriors try..."a bad read in defence by Kennedy".

Playing SOO for QLD, worrying about getting off the player quickly. Thats 2 phrases I didn't think I would ever see together.
He would suit SOO for QLD, he would not get penalised for all that lazy shit he does for the Roosters, it would be heaven for him
