your gibbering re what the car might have been used for or if it was insured is irrelevant
The main point I was also trying to illustrate with you Tony....was that you stated on tihs forum that the charge against Ferguson was "Sexual Assault"....the charge against Ferguson according to what I have read is that it is "indecent assault"....yes it is still a serious offence but it is not sexual assault....I have studied Criminal Law in the past and I am not going to tell you what my qualifications are... but try to get it right when discussing serious things such as criminal charges.....
re the other stuff eg rumours and other stuff we talk on the forum such as game comments, players in and out of form, 70-80s hits...etc its mostly gibber yes and harmless fun

Parkway, are you sitting in Bondi's shed with him on the crack pipe at the moment?

Try and get this through your clouded head - nowhere did I condone Burgess' actions. It was appalling behaviour, and the club must also shoulder some responsibility for allowing him to be out at 2.45am or whatever it was.

What I did do was try and explain to your pipe brother that Ferguson was treated like he was on the basis of his offense combined with his very poor record. Indecent assault (corrected from sexual assault) is worse than crimes associated with property, because it's a direct attack on another person.

I'm sure South/Burgess will be paying (not only monetarily) for the damage they did

Now have another toke, but save some for Bondi

            hahahahaha

LOL@souffs. With a criminal record he almost qualifies to be a souffs fan. All he needs now are some teeth to be removed.

How did he pull apart a street sign???? He must be stronger than I thought.

Totally agree, but....because he plays for $ouff$ he will be looked after. What Fergo did was awful, however, what teo did was far worse, but....because he plays for $ouff$ he will be looked after. If Fergo played for $ouff$ he would be alright, just deny deny any wrong doing and rusty and the NRL will look after you!

How about the player takes responsibility for his own actions. Does an adult now need a 24 hour minder? They banned the shoulder charge, they have banned the biff, and now we have do nannies like Tony wanting a club to take responsibility for a player out on the town.

Its more to do with the incompetent QLD Police force than the team Teo plays for. They deadset take 3 years to solve any incident, unless the have CCTV to prove anything.

They will conveniently wait until his contract expires with $ouff$ and then act, which as you say will take 3 years, in the meantime just keep the evidence in storage as rusty and the NRL don't want anything to interfere with $ouff$ trying to win a premiership as it's not good for business!

                        Was Teo actually charged mate???

I'm guessing that's the difference as I cannot find any evidence of an actual charge being filed against the bloke???

What I do find wrong is noones questioned Souffs attempts at covering up both incidents. It took at least a month for Teo and Burgess happened Sunday night but is only news today, although I realise yesterday's headlines over Fergo were dominant.

PhoneChukka has many friendlys in the media.

geez it's reading and comprehension 101 today with you and parkway adz...

A mate of mine played for Penrith some years back, and any time we'd go anywhere with them they'd have a couple of sensible older blokes tagging along, essentially to keep an eye on things, keep the women swarming around Girdler in an orderly queue, and get anyone who was starting to struggle in a cab and gone. No way was anyone still out at 2.45am.

If Souths are crazy enough to allow 20yo players to be charging around the streets of Cairns at 2.45am, then they certainly need to take some of the blame for the inevitable consequences

Smith said Ferguson's registration had been suspended over repeated behavioural issues involving alcohol by the 23-year-old, who was earlier this year stood down by the Raiders, fined and ordered to undergo counselling after another drinking session with Dugan.

“The fans do not want to see the game tarnished and neither do the players,” Smith said from Brisbane, where he was attending Monday night's Broncos-Tigers match.
“It's time for people to understand that the game isn't going to accept this sort of behaviour. The first step in Blake's case is to make a clear call in relation to Origin, and tomorrow we will consult with the Raiders to determine the minimum period we would look at in terms of suspension.

We have worked closely with both the NSWRL and the Canberra Raiders during this process, and there remains genuine concern for the welfare of the player. We will offer every support to address any issues but there also has to be a clear deterrent.”

I actually have an issue with Smith's stance on this, if like Brett Stewart it turns out that Ferguson's fame put him in a compromising position where he was taken advantage of and wrongly accused the NRL have essentially de-registered his contract for having a drink. Which is quite clearly something they can't justify (even though Gallop tried to after the situation with Stewart).

What happens then, Fergusson has missed out on probably ~100k in payments for the time he's out of the game, the pride of playing for his state and playing every week with his club mates but all he receives is an apology?

I think the NRL have put themselves in a very compromising situation. Like the court of law I think players should be given the presumption of innocence until proven otherwise and the NRL should react to the ruling passed down by the courts, not the charge by police.

That's ridiculous - the NRL is not presuming Ferguson guilty but treating him as the irresponsible goon he was; given his past and the context (big chance to take Origin, Dugan's comeback), his decision to go out hard and down champagne from the bottle is idiotic. The fact that sexual/indecent assault allegations came from it just adds to this idiocy.

Ferguson's punishment is not for assault, but for "repeated behavioural issues involving alcohol."

Any punishment for sexual assault will come from a court of law.

Punishment for being a fuuckwit, not appreciating the situation of his relationship with the game right now and disrespecting his teammates has been handed out by the NRL, and rightly so.
