  • Oldfield injured for Newtown today

geez we can't take a trick at the moment, Oldfield was injured scoring a try for Newtown today, not sure the nature of the injury but was serious enough that he didn't return.

taking a look through the jets team today, not many Rooster's contracted players left with all the injuries.

we are now looking extremely thin outwide outside of Mini/RTS/Tupou.

Is it the Chook Pen Curse?

Everyone wanted Kennedy out .. injured. Everyone wanted SKD gone and his top 2 replacements in Moga and Oldfield injured ...

    Look out Pearcey!

Newman, you seem to be a man on the inside, are we chasing any outside backs for depth next year as I think we are a bit thin in that department. Plenty of depth in the forwards, Morts and I suppose Langi in the halves but really only oldfield in the outside backs

I agee. We need one relatively experienced outside back who can also be RTS' back up. There couldn't be too much money left but hopefully enough for such a player. Club is very keen on Nene McDonald and see him as such a player. I'd like extra insurance. No point buying someone unless they can genuinely be of first grade standard but one might become available in the coming months. We have bought Kurt Capewell for the rest of this year and next from the Broncos who will be too old for NYC next year and he is a fullback but obviously untested. He arrived a few weeks ago so we'll see him in the coming weeks in the NYC. Minds are still open I suspect on buying one more outside back but I think it will happen.

I should have added that I am pretty certain that they will buy a second tier centre irrespective on whether they'll buy the additional accomplished outside back we just spoke about.

I don't know why we know. I know and why is not relevant to the disussion. I thought I'd share the information on Capewell given the specific nature of the question. Your second question totally lacks specificity so I could not possibly attempt an answer. I started participating in this forum as I felt the club was not giving fans a lot of information that I believe they are entitled to and this forum was debating many issues without some basic information to for an informed debate. As long as I feel I am helpful and treated with respect I will continue to help when I can. How and why I know and who told me are really not questions you should ask. If you really must have those answers before accepting the veracity of information I post here then I will happily crawl back into the hole from where I came.

Sweet. We have also signed two other outside backs in the last week or so who can play NYC this year and next. Handy given Milne's unavailability, Moga's injury and Dallas Wells' immediate transfer to Sharks. The players are Arthur Currie and Daniel Mooka. Currie is highly regarded whilst Mooka is more likely to be a longer term proposition.

Don't agree with you rooster8888 - I thought he was awful, with all due respect. I would not like to see him again and hopefully I won't. His error rate was far too high and the fact we have gone out to the market for additional purchases would seem to indicate that the club lacks confidence in him too.
