I like Mortimer's attacking game... he has a good long stabbing kick that gets behind defenders.
Pearce and Maloney... need to learn that you kick to space rather than Greg Inglis or Billy Slater.
Given Seluini played for Newtown today it would seem that Mortimer will return to his regular role of bench hooker, for at least some, if not all of the game. In those circumstances SBW would play five eighth, Cordner would play left edge, Aubbo right edge and FPN lock. The bench would then be LOD, Morts, Guerra and Napa (who didn't play for Jets today and is now cleared to play regularly from the second tier after Tasi's release). Guerra would grab bench spot over Liu under those circumstances to enable Cordner to cover for FPN when he needed a rest. Only speculating of course but I can't see the coach wanting to play Jake for 80 minutes, and he would have been delighted by what he saw last Friday of SBW at second receiver, Cordner at left edge and FPN's first stint at lock. Maloney's injury gives him another opportunity to see them do it again from those positions and I would not be surprised to see that formation when he run out on Monday.
i thought the tigers was a sure thing tonight because cameron smith is the heart of the storm but i rekon we can come away with a win on monday, JWH is gonna be fired up to the max just hope red rose dosen't fall into one of JWH hits again

I would have thought Liu was a better chance than Guerra for the bench spot given that he could straight swap with FPN when he gets tired. Liu impresses me a hell of a lot more than Guerra, even if Guerra does play on the edge. Or do you think we lose too much ball playing from lock with Liu there replacing FPN instead of Cordner?

Morts will play 5/8 mate for certain with SBW to have a roaming role. Again I'm just speculating.

I'm no fan of Guerra either, but I suppose, if this does happen, the coach sees Liu as an inferior lock to Guerra as a second rower, and Cordner will spend time at lock as a result to give FPN a rest. Liu has little ability to ball play before the line which coaches like to see from a modern day lock. This selection of Guerra will only occur of course if Williams is five eighth, and so if it does happen, you'd think Guerra will only be in the 17 whilst Maloney is on the injured list, if all other players are available.
