I would prefer to see Morts start at HB and slip Pearce back to 5/8. SBW can always loiter around and act as a second 5/8.
I just think that Morts is actually better than Pearce at creating attacking opportunities from that position. Although Pearce has him in spades for defence, which he can effect just as well with a No.6 on his back.
what's everyone's obsession with Pearce at 5/8? Pearce is a halfback, Morts is a 5/8. If that isn't the halves pairing tonight it will be Pearce at halfback and SBW at 5/8. But seeing as sel didn't play for the bluebags over the weekend, im going out on a limb and saying that Morts will be 5/8.

Roosters $1.75 / Manly $ 2.12
RUMOURS:
James Maloney will be OUT with a facial injury he picked up in Origin 2 with Daniel Mortimer moving into the halves.
Lama Tasi was released during the week and now we have strong mail that Dylan Napa will make his way on to the bench.
Brett Stewart has trained all week and is a strong chance to take his fullback position at the expense of Peter Hiku.
Prediction:
Roosters win a tough match in wet conditions 28 - 16.
We can surely make our Game Day thread's opening post a little better (no offense mate!)

I can see where youre coming from mate, I usually do these threads and add a bit of spark and humour to them.
roosterboy or whatever his name is mustve been laid off from his job as a nurse because I don't understand how he would have the time to do it on a Monday morning.

28-16 is ambitious too but certainly possible. It will all come down to our halves. But the mystery can work in our favour too. TR know what we're doing but nobody at Manly does.

There is very little in either position these days the way most teams play anyways. Even Freddy fed scrums and interchanged with his 1/2s.
FBs now are extra 5/8s.
It's like the edge back rower/centre argument. People were adamant Maubs can't play centre, but the fact remains most weeks he plays like a traditional inside centre anyways. As most edge back rowers do.
Same as the lock/prop/middle third debate.
It's all grids and slots and channels and zones and edges and middle thirds now. Numbers mean very little in the scheme of things.

ROFLMFAO I'm renaming you Kleenex maaaaaaaaaaaaaaate.
That's the second week you've teared up over that.

please, keep the nicknames coming. ive had a few over the years and im not even out of school yet.
in all seriousness, having a weekly thread seems to be a bit of a calling card around here. Brain does the match ratings, Vasco updates the wentworth courier, justjuice seems content to get the team lists up here each week. I want the match day thread
