All kickoff and dropout returns is the popular mantra I believe.

    MLK.

Haha, your man love for Maubs has taken a back seat for MK lately backwards.
This is where I say that stats are misleading, he was constantly bending the line nearly every hit up. It's not the numbers that count, it's the quality. MK was improving but people kept posting how awesome his meters were. He can run for 100+ m a match but its not the same quality as what Moa, JWH and even LOD have been doing. They get through the line and get quick play the balls. Big Marty hasn't done that as yet but like I said he was getting better before copping that injury

His running game was on the improve. Averaging 90 metres a game is a pass mark IMO.

Good to see he'd made something like 9 drops and 12 penalties in 14 games. Much less than he was credited for.

His defence was good all year IMO.

I'm serious that defensively at least he will be missed. For a big man 27 tackles in just over 40 mins a game and only a miss a game is very good. Someone has to make those tackles now.

I will never give Maubs up, hes my number one. But I'm a slut, I will always sway against popular opinion.

My issue with the big tnuc as you so elequintley put it in another thread, wasn't the amount of penalties it was for the exact same penalty game after game and dropping it when we seemed like we were building for something

Egg is all over my face. He's proven himself to be worth the initial hype that he stirred before even playing a game of NRL.

The guy I once called cocky, over-hyped, unproven and over-paid is now a stayer.

Without JWH on the field we lose a lot of intensity. I doubt we could have beaten up a pack the same calibre as Manly's without him (Moa, Cordner, Friend and SBW also played a massive part of course, but lack intensity without JWH.)

          ---

In perspective Kennedy is QLD's 18th man (and they carved NSW a new one without him.) JWH would probably get picked above Woods and Fifita for NSW I reckon...

NZ weren't stupid blooding him when he'd only played NYC.

JWH a bit unlucky not to get that try awarded last night, that's all right cause he'll get one against them in the playoffs and it will feel even better.
                Well done mate.

Do you think we looked soft up the middle in defence in his absence? He is a handy player and I agree if we lose more troops he will be missed but I believe currently we lose little with him out with the 4 we have their now, remembering JWH plays 55 minutes a game meaning our number 4 prop Lui only gets about 25 minutes game time.

Moa hits harder and hurts more in defence even if he makes a few less tackles and is quicker with his play the balls which helps build offensive momentum. LOD is also matching Kennedy for stats and aiming up each week.

Agreed mate he's no superstar but as you said an injury or suspension or two and it's gonna bite.

MLK has played in a GF. He brings experience and defence, what we have built upon this year so far.

I was never a fan till everyone turned on him then I started to pay attention and realised he does a lot of unnoticed work like Maubs does.

Teams don't win comps without these guys, the clubmen, the whitemencantjump ones.

I agree we will get along without MLK. But I won't be surprised if we need to call on his services before the years out.

JWH has the best case of white line fever I've seen in a prop.

This side of the line he's the nicest bloke you'd meet and well spoken, the other side he's a machine.

He'll be a Rooster for life.

                        Chook.

I would also like to express my man-love for the big fella.

And I can also attest to his wonderful nature off the field. He has spent some time with our juniors and really put in a big effort to have a great time with them. They did a spot on Channel 10 weather and after the filiming when the sprinklers came on he spontaneously ran through them and of course all the kids followed him like he was the pied piper.

He was also a gentleman about the whole George Rose affair - did the right thing all the way through.
