Valiant win under difficult circumstances again. Couldn't believe the complete incompetence of the refs with those knock ons! They see the ball go in more than one direction and the poor little things get confused. That so-called double knock on resulted in a Manly try and nearly cost us the game. And then there was Tuivasa-Sheck: "Oh, he got knocked out and dropped the ball, so it must be a knock on!" He dropped it behind him! I'm also getting sick of seeing players knocked out like that and the defending team getting the advantage. How is it that if you accidentally get hit in the head by a tackler's arm it is a penalty, but if you get accidently head-butted and you drop the ball, you don't even keep possession? As far as the obstruction penalty goes, the Manly player was milking it for all it was worth.

the rules are there for those who know how to best exploit them. if jwh didnt hold the ball long enough for a replay of the high shot to come up, it would of ended up being a scrum, if u can milk the obstruction rule, then good luck to you.
rugby league seems to be the only game that is continually changing or modifying rules before, during and after the season. players and refs can never settle because the rules are never settled.

Refs were ordinary but no concerns with the obstruction ... Brent Kite looked like he ran into a burning building he flared his arms around that wildly ... best part about tonight ... we didn't concede try after try after we gave away penalties. Great D and Checchin can go and get butt fked

If the ARL Commission, the so called 'Saviours of the Game', think it's a good look then they've got another thinK coming!
Police escort off the field for the refs at half time. LOL
Police escort off the field for the refs at full time. LOL
The seemingly biased refereeing.
It all made the NRL look like a laughing stock.
What's the NRL Commission gonna do about it? that's the question.
Judging by the past...absolutely nothing.
So the mocking of, and disdain for, the NRL and the ARL Commission will continue.Last edited by bondi-boy; 07-02-2013, 08:23 AM.

Good tough win but like I've said all along, Manly are a shadow of their past teams, without Foran they were even more diabolical, we just need to keep winning and get a top two position so we don't have to play in Melbourne , ANZ or Brooky. Our only real rivals for the throne are Storm, who are big game specialists and Souths.

Justice prevailed in the end.
To me this game was special because:
- We had Maloney out + Mortimer got injured (and Boyd Cordner kicking? lol...) Big WTF for Pearce... I thought he had a good boot?
- Manly were VERY physical and in my view pushed the rules a bit too far (and got away with it.)
- We did a lot of defending but stopped a massive pack in their tracks.
- It was like a final ("like"... we still have a long way to go I realise.) But we had Maloney and Mortimer out and still controlled the game with significant players filling ad-hoc roles.
Think Manly without DCE, Foran and Wolfman. They would have been chook feed!!! (Why doesn't Wolfman play Origin for NSW? I rated him last night. Punt that Souffs Scumbag!!)
In a final you have to keep your chin up regardless of what cards you're dealt. Injuries and unfair penalties aside we did that and I'm extremely proud of our boys for getting the job done!! Improvements + more to come I hope!!
