  • 9-3 penalty count

    LOL!!!!

A lot has been spoken about this.

Surely the NRL and the refs need to be just a little embarrassed about this.

Not the 9 penalties we "conceded" (although seriously that is a lot for a team that just thrashed their opponents).

But as always, our hapless opponents, who could not cross our line, only provoked the refs to put the whistle in their mouths one and a half times each half.

Don't you think they, under the circumstances that they were being bent over the bonnet of the car doggy style by us on the scoreboard, might have been tempted to breech the rules in the ruck or standing offside?

    Nope.

    Perfect discipline.

Seriously, I think these turkey phukkers are actually doing us a favour unknowingly with these ridiculously lopsided penalty counts - they have helped make us a formidable side defensively.

For the first 60 minutes of the game, I swear these turds with whistles didn't let Merge run the ball out of their quarter more than once after a fifth tackle kick by us without giving a piggy back penalty.

With unbiased refereeing it was 60-nil tonight.

The question is, what will they do in the finals? Give Souffs the penalties against us 20-nil?

With our defence, we still might win.

Hardly surprising I've given up trying for our boys to win a penalty heaven help a team when we do lol.

Shush, it's a "conspiracy theory." The truth is out there.

As you said, I don't want to focus on the 9 penalties we conceded. Instead, how about the Dragons miraculous discipline despite being pounded like a cheerleader in the forwards.

We were making 70m plus every 2/3 sets with quick dummy half running. And yet, NOT ONCE were they offside according to the referees!

      Remarkable!!

God help us in the finals against Souths. You think the 2010 stitch up was bad? We haven't seen nothing yet.

Oh and my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE ...

How about when one of our players was speared head first into the ground in the 2nd half?

        Result?

        Play on.

This on top of JWH's coathanger last week which the onfield ref was desperate to overlook.

That was bad, but the speartackle that all 4 referees apparently missed will go down as the stuff of legend.

            That was bad.

But we had the ball anyway.

It was a penalty on our 5m line and we gained an extra 5m as a result.

And yet the commentators were going on about it like it was the crime of the century.

yes the commentators especially smith clearly have hatred for the roosters, but i think we were very undiciplined and still think we had better luck with the refs decision than the dragons did.

apart from the jenko/toups blunder, how?

How did our "poor discipline" help Merge concede only 1 penalty per half? When they were totally pounded by us?

WTF, we received 1 penalty for the rest of the game after that.

Did you watch the game or are you just talking through your arse.

And very little mention of the lopsided penalty count, but this is hardly suprising.

The lopsided penalty counts are only making East's more of a defensive threat now, no longer are our boys dropping their heads and letting the penaltys get to them.
It also makes the wins that much sweeter...

I think it is pretty clear that the NRL want Souths to win the GF this year. It doesn't matter how much they penalize us ...... we still keep winning. The Souths game will be interesting.

What was the go with the drop outs. Morris touches the ball, they get a 20m restart. Skd grounds the ball whilst having his whole body behind the dead ball line and its a line drop out.

there was a point in the game where we made a break and got a fast play the ball, the wide camera shot clearly showed St Merge was still running back as we played the ball and were atleast 3 metres offside but was called play on, then 1 tackle later we kicked in there ingoal and tackled them 10m out and were called offside -_-
