Maubs just reads the game so well he often shuts down plays long before SKD is ever asked to make a decision. I wouldn't say he has a great technique but he's very efficient with the defensive work he gets through, he locks up the ball and always gets his man to ground. Deceptively strong. 1 on 1 I doubt there's many better defenders in the game.

Agreed on the whole a good communicator in defence out wide. He is one of the players i am most confidence with his one on one out wide. Only really comes unstuck when those around him dont work as a unit. ie the Bulldogs try on the left side a couple of games ago where he is caught short on numbers with Daniel mortimer.

We are talking about SKD here. The same player that couldn't even jump on Greg Ingliss when he was on the ground and not moving. Simple and SKD go hand in hand.

Without me stating the bleeding obvious yes he has problems with his defence mainly that he is late to make a decision often will have a combination of up and in, up and hold, up and slide,etc,etc in a single defensive response. Confidence, technique and attitude are all key. the first two he is struggling with.

What was his excuse when a player is on the ground? Just fall on the bloody player on the ground, sit on him even.

Is there any correlation between Maubs being back on the right next to SKiDs the last few weeks and The Doufuss actually showing some decent form???

I reckon he gets the yips playing next to $BW.

And Maubs is very consistent, a genuine footballer.

When both players have been fit I believe they have played their best footy together for us over the years.
