I'll pay Mitch Pearce but some of these posts are no-brainers. Easy to say you'll support a guy like Mini or SBW no mater what....

For mine it's Skidsy - he has had some shocking games (and the winces are audible when he gets ball in hand sometimes) but he keeps getting back on the horse and giving 100% effort.

He's a great club man too.

Probably Friendy for mine, I've always maintained that he's got one of the best all round games for a dummy half in the NRL. He's not particularly great at anyone one thing in attack but he's just got an all round good game. Good kicking game, good service from the deck, good running game, good passing game in general play, good at picking up his forwards at the advantage line, reads the game well and rarely makes any errors. His defence is exceptional, there was a point last year when people started to question even his defensive capabilities but some of the cover tackles he gets through every week are amazing, he's worth easily 1-2 tries a game in defence alone. He should be the next option for QLD after Cam Smith, there's no doubt in my mind.

I think Pearce is a really good solid first grade halfback but a famous last name and some unwarranted Origin jerseys due to a lack of options brings its detractors so I often find myself strongly disagreeing with those who want to slam him personally or over-exaggerate just how limited he is as a player.

Pearce for mine for exactly this reason. He will likely never be an Andrew Johns (in particular has a very limited short kicking game) but is still one of the best halves in the comp and busts a gut every minute he is on the field. No idea why he is so maligned.

His kicking game has impressed me this season. He's obviously been working hard on that in the off season. I'd love him to have a crack at some 40/20 s in some games in the future.

There's still so much potential with Friend. To think that a few years ago his career could have been over is mindblowing to say the least. Kudos to uncle Nicholas for persisting with him and turning his life around.
