I'd like to clarify that my criticism of Mitchell Pearce is in his current position, not as a player. He has great passing ability and tackles like a forward.

Which is where he should be. As hooker.

Other than that, he's a boon to the team now he's on the sports page not the society page.

No need for clarify Johnny. Other than spelling it out for us all, I am sure you have repeated yourself a thousand times.

          ?????

Carney was mom in the semi against the tigers, he then tore the riff a new one, only one player went missing in those semi finals, the bloke who had 5 cracks at field goal hitting the corner post twice.

They were both non existant in the GF

Pearce was MOTM against penrith and our second best against the titans

Pearce is the best defensive halfback in the comp. He is probably about the 8th best attacking halfback in the comp IMO.

I see Pearce as not being good enough in the big games to take the Roosters to winning the comp. I don't dislike Pearce I think he has an enormous heart & puts his body on the line every week, he can pass a nice ball & put a player through a gap but when it comes to making the right decision under pressure when the Roosters are in the oppositions 20 he fails 90% of the time. It's because of this IMO that the Roosters will not go all the way.

It's funny isn't it watching and listening to the commentary of late, and reading what's printed here and elsewhere, everyone bangs on about PearceOrf in particular not getting repeats or not being cool under pressure when attacking, I've done it myself.

But we are second in attack. And we have scored more times from the red zone (attacking 20) than any other team this season. And PearceOrf is ranked high in the try assist stats or whatever it is called.

Listening to the commentary in the game they say at one point our 1/2s are under pressure cos they don't get repeats and aren't cool under pressure but 20 mins later wrapped us for being the best team in the attacking 20 at scoring, actually said we are good at handling pressure, or words to that effect.

                It's a conundrum.

                I think.

Maybe Johnathon can assist me with that definition.

My short terms shot to shit.

Glad I'm not the only one that sees it that way. Incredible player defensively and always runs the ball hard, but that definitely isn't the ideal player for a halfback. Seems a lot more suited for hooker than Mortimer. But when you look at a player like Sutton, you know there is room for improvement if he wants to be that kind of a half.

I really wish Reynolds had a shot at Origin so we can really get a good picture of where these two halfbacks are at. If the Rabbitohs lost Reynolds again, they wouldn't stand a chance... Can't say the same for Pearce.

The only time his 5th play isn't most efficient is when he kicks. His pass selection near the line is actually very good.
Where abouts did you find the information that shows him as 8th best attacking half-back?
