  • "Bennett was also happy to see Poore, Hannant & Civo go"

But he signed Joel Clinton.... Even the best don't get it right all the time..

    • Don't mind Ryles coming although we have to stand firm and say 2 year deal or nothing. Too big a risk with props of his age.

2 things you newbies need to know. Melon will call you out when he sees it fit to. Gman made a horrible assertion. In that regards Gman you didnt know shit. that may not alwasy be the case...that is completely up to you. Is that arrogant enough for a Monday? Tough.

And Roz, dont bother with stats, they dont mean anything. Even those of when Ryles was at his "peak" whatever that was. Thats like saying Matt King's stats ion 2004 are teh reason we should buy him in 2010. No make sense little one.

One thing that doesnt diminish over time, whilst the legs do, is the mind. And your mate Jason Ryles, wasnt the sharpest tool in the shed. Try looking up the more "real' statistics - like how many times did he cost teh dragons a crucial victory by having a brain explosion? Easily the most baitable player in the NRL - a hot headed dope of the highest order. He cant think and he cant play. And no bullshit stat that you drag out changes that fact.

hangon relax, I didnt criticise you so id rather not be included in your little battle with Gman. Secondly, if you said this first then I wouldnt have pulled you up. You specifically said that 100m in the superleague is like 100m for windsor. you went on to suggest and still do that ryles is was more of a hinderance than anything in the NRL.

All i did was say well hang on, his nrl stats show a bloke making 25+ tackles a game, missing less than 2, busting 2 tackles, a few offloads and 130 metres. I didnt say stats are the be all and end all, all im saying is that what you need to understand is that in terms of metres gained etc, the bloke was one of the premier forwards in the nrl only last year. The fact that he is dominating in the ESL shows that he still has a hunger to play footy and he is coming back as a choice for his career - nothing to do with money so at least his head is in the right place.

So, if you think the stats are bullshit well why did you criticse them in the first place? I have not said once whether or not I want ryles here nor have I defended him in anyway all I have said is in response to your ill-informed claim that Ryles doesnt go forward etc is that his nrl stats over a number of years suggest otherwise. If you have a problem with him giving away penalities etc then maybe that should have been made clear from the outset.

because you immediately used stats to justify Ryles as a credible signing. Thats the worst thing you can do. Your view would have been less open to criticism had you shown that you had a better more personal opinion of him by citing instances based on your observations over time that only prove the false value of the stats you quoted.

Coupled with your "trust us" plea from another thread and I could rapidly see the credibility in yor argument wasnt there.

Ive been trusting us for 40 years. From sponsoring the club to just another punter in the stalls. I trusted us whe we signed Vautin. I trusted us when we screwed the Bennett deal. I trusted us when we signed Anderson. I trusted us through the last 5 years only to be kicked in the head over and over again by a bunch of morons running the club. Trust us? You are kidding. As I said...zero cred. Thats how it is Roz. If you genuinely believe Ryles is a good buy and not just topping up his Super fund, then thats your parogative. Dont expect me to agree.

no see i agree with what your saying in relation to criticism but for the 3rd and final time, when you said "ohh 100metres in the super league is like 100metres for windsor" I simply stepped in and said that he has been producing similar stats for a long time in the NRL thats it. Thats not my opininon or whatever as you are suggesting I am simply saying that if you criticise his stats in the superleague because the superleague isnt a credible judge of performace then I am simply pointing out that he has been just as good in the NRL as early as last year. I did not refer to how many games he has blown etc and you are probably right but if you criticise his stats in a comp and its unjustifiable as it was then you got that bit wrong thats all Ive been saying. It has nothing to do with whether he will be a good signing or not

The trust us comment was refering to us as in me, mack and footy regarding the quality of the youngsters from memory but irrespective of the topic, I wasnt refering to the club I was refering to us as in other forum members that were sharing the same opinion. I now see why you are arguing about this

                      Oh my.....God has spoken!
I'm no shrinking violet my friend & i have a couple of things to pass on to you.
Learn to respect others peoples views & opinions on this forum. There's no reason whatsoever to try & throw your weight around and intimidate fellow supporters. By all means disagree but don't insult someone by telling them "they know shit"! And have a go at your arrogance by refering to me as a "newbie". Are you far more superior because you're above everyone else? Please............
Get over your insecurities & learn tolerance and understanding. Shalom to you Mr Melon.
p.s I'm so looking forward to Ryles leading the charge in the RW&B. Egg would look good on your face .
