Who's we? I think you're missing the point that this is Brian Smiths signing, he tried to get him when he was at the Knights. Smith is hardly someone who just spins the wheel, he's someone who makes very calculated decisions and only signs players who will improve his team.

With Frank Paul, JWH, Paea we really lack someone who will make metres for us... our front row is too one dimensional. Ryles will give us mobility and a metre eater, not only will it allow blokes like Frank Paul to come into their own, it'll bring experience into the side and it'll give our halves all that much more room to play with. No point having potentially the best halves combo if we can't even hold field position.

I wouldn't mind Ben Rooss either, bar the injuries he's one of the better metre eaters in the comp. Lets face it the fact that age keeps being brought up is because no one can argue with his skill set... I'll be happy to watch him be our best player this year. Like Fitzy, like Nutley he'll prove that experience will always win over youth.

Ryles was a genuinely tough front rower in that crucial first 15 minute period.
It'll only take us 4 weeks to find out if he's still got the hunger and the body to back it up.
Until then, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt, based on a couple of years overseas that has made him realise how soon his career will be over, and he will want to prove to everyone how good he was and hopefully still is.

Second best. Todd Carney will be the greatest signing since Brad Fittler. If Carney was given a second chance by any other team in the NRL we'd be wondering what he could do for that club ???? we are blessed to sign such a natural footballer.

its not Ryles experience its his attitude, his egotistical arrogance that will harm us a huge deal.
the only thing he will mentor the players in is sleeping with other players wives.

This is a bad move getting Ryles a bad move for the stability and cohesion of an already ****ed squad
