You wouldn't take Jake Webster over SKD?

As his performances, rep regime and stats from last year suggest and even if you look at his stats from the years gone by, he is the metre eater and man mountain with experience we need to play upfront. As you said we have been looking for this sort of player for a while - hopefully we finally get it right and at least this time we know he isnt on ridiculous money - there is no way sa is on more than 300k
I really don't buy into this, I think we're putting some unrealistic expectations on Smith... he's just one man after all. I think Smith will have a larger effect on the young blokes than he will the older guys... it's up to Mase now whether he wants another contract. Myles moving into the backrow is just what he needs.

Ryles is alot more mobile than Ogre ever was, I think he'll adjust to the two referees quite easily. He's never been know for being a hit man either so his body should be good to go, we all know when Ogre came here his body was a mess. Also playing in a team with structure will probably go a long way too.

I was at an Origin a few yrs ago, on the 40 metre line, 10 rows back, and Ryles smashed everything in front of him. He was brutal.
Whether he can do it now 4-5 yrs later, I've got NFI, but if he can hold his own, as Bellany gets White to do for 15 min of old fashioned tough stuff, then he'll go alright.

I would rather we wait until the end of next season and get an even better player off contract.

Cashmere was pretty good I agree but given Ryles looks like he is coming here I think he would be surplus.. 2 ageing guys coming back from the ESL would be a bit much.

It will end in tears, just like Nutley, Ogre and any other old pension seeking forward that we sign.

I understand the difference between a prop and a second row but thanks for pointing that out, your comparison to Phil Graham is stupid as we need a recognised centre, we are fine for front rowers and i see no value in a dumb bloke past his best coming back from a weaker level of football.

You think a front row of Paea, FPN, Hargreaves & some youngster is first grade material? A whole lot of potential but not many performances to show for it yet, Ryles will lead our pack and will be our best signing.

I look at the game yesterday and of all the front rowers Cayles would be the only named player. I also think Myles is a front rower, way to slow for the backrow. I see no benefit in spending more money on props

                      • Imo Myles is a backrower.

We got FPN, JWH, Paea, Waqa? i think we need 1 more experince prop to guide us so i would welcome Ryles with open arms. But thats just me?

                          1 more?

                          Who's the other one/s?

Agree with Myles, I was happy to hear Smith say the exact same thing as well.

What does being a named player have to do with any of this?

I'm talking about proven performers which Moi Moi, White, Blair & even the youngsters Tolman and Mannah have shown.

Also why is Myles to slow in FG but quick enough in SOO to play backrow Must be a slower game...
