cayless is in discussions with the tigers. although apparently tigers are after Lima from the Storm. Storm may let him go a year early. If they don't get Lima they want Cayless. This from an article... forget which paper.

Good signing btw.
My statement was that we let player A go and we sign player B.
IMO Player B is a moron who is past it and we sign him for three years......

Still don't see what Fitzy has to do with Ryles, sure everyone is upset about him leaving but it has nothing to do with Ryles. Pretty unfair to put that on him before he has even played a game for the club.

My reference to Fitzy is that everything with Easts is that players only leave due to Salary cap and then presto we sign a high profile player who becomes a high profile dud....

Also Ryles is Smith's doing, I know we have a poor record with most signings in general but when you look at Smith's recent recruits at the Knights I'm definatley not going to question him.

Ryles is still in the ESL finals series with the Catalan Dragons who he still has a contract with for another 2 seasons, my guess would be that all parties will wait till the club is first out of the finals series, the Catalans grant him a release and then it'll be made official if it is indeed true.

As for Smith, he will do better but I don't know that Ryles will be the answer to our problems

let weigh this up:
- we need an experienced prop who can lead from the front - tick (he is also a former rep player so has played on the big stage)
- we need a bloke that makes plenty of hit-ups and is quite big, strong and destructive - tick
He ticks the boxes and I think his attitude problems should no longer be a worry as smith is one to always get the best out of players. Dont forget how good he was for st george last year and id imagine we are getting him for good value considering the money he has been on and was on. Here are his stats averaged out from last year:
57 mins
16 runs
139 metres
27 tackles
1.2 missed
2 offloads a game
1.4 tacles busts a game
thats pretty bloody good if you ask me. He is a very big boy so hopefully we can get him into shape for next year and use him as a wrecking ball in the early exchanges before introducing the likes of JWH, paea and Nuuasala to provide similar sting from the bench
