  • Opposition Supporters In The Pen Version 1.216

I am the first to agree, a night out at the footy with a couple of good mates that support the opposition is great fun.
However, if you are attending the match with opposition supporters do not sit with them in the Chook Pen. Enjoy your night, just do it somewhere else.
Any Roosters supporter who brings opposition supporters into the pen is a low act. It is the equivalent of saying F*** You to the rest of the Roosters supporters in the bay.
The security of this is terrible, it needs to be managed from within.

    Segregation is the only answer.

Barbed wire and armed security will ensure our safety.

    Make a stand.

    The FlogPen .

    You know it makes sense.

I spoke to security about this and they agreed it was ridiculous but if the opposition fans have chookpen tickets there's nothing they can do about it.

        Jesus. H. Christ.

        Get a life.

Unless opposition supporters are being deliberately annoying or confrontational, who gives a shit?

If this is one of the biggest issues in people's lives, get a bloody grip.

I've only sat near the pen once and will never go near there again. The behaviour, racism and language from 'ladies' wearing red, white and blue was beyond disgraceful.

          Finch,

A "lady" claiming to be Roosters fan rang 2GB after the game and claimed to have been thrown out for bringing Sharks fans with her and her friends. Apparently they were badly behaved, throwing beer on Chookpen residents and so on.

Not everyone behaves this way, and they were removed, but probably ruined a group of Chookpen locals night out.

Chookpen did get a bit tense after a few people got tossed tonight. Unfortunately, not much that can be done.

That redhead Sharkies fella almost lost his shits because of the Goodbye chant when he was leaving. Got right in the face of one of the Chookie supporters.

So you have a strong opinion on an issue that is occurring in an area you have sat 'near' once?

look people are pretty naive if they don't get what the Chookpen and all its different forms since the days in the Turner Stand at the old Sportsground is and has been about and the fact that bringing opposition fans is nearly always going to cause friction. It is the most vocal and parochial Roosters supporters and sitting in amongst it in opposition colours and if suggested they were acting like dopes well what do people expect.

they need to really have a rethink where they buy their membership if they want to bring guests. I am not sure whether the the club is selling tickets for these bays on a casual basis? Does anyone know?

if they are using season tickets the membership rules are simple the person must be in possession of a NON TRANSFERABLE ticket. If somebody is bringing a mate in on someone else's ticket it breaches the condition of their membership.

The club has on numerous occasions contacted chook pen members advising against this for all the obvious reasons

I don't think racist behaviour should ever be tolerated in the chookpen

i made a thread about this some weeks ago, and agree 100%, I thought they stopped selling chookpen tickets?

everyone in the pen pays extra to sit there and be apart of it, i dont think its fair on them that they need to sit amongst enemy supporters who sneak in.

i saw 2 shark fans 2 rows infront of me, security asked them "You guys got tickets for chookpen?" they said "Yeah".. then security kept on walking, he didnt even ask to see them....its called the chookpen for a reason, it isnt supposed to house Sharks fans,Storm fans, Broncos fans etc etc, it is suppose to be 100% ROOSTERS, that is the point!, Letting everyone else in defeats the purpose , Might as well stop calling it CHOOKPEN, and call it the "Mostly Roosters fans but if you follow the other team...sneak right in we wont say boo "

What gets me tho is why do they WANT to sit amongst us, there lucky we arnt souths or bulldogs fans, i cant imagine many sneak into there members area and get away with it.

Did the woman who had the cronulla supporters explain why they had bought a roosters season ticket. A lot of money for a premium seat for one game a year? agree it wouldn't be tolerated at other clubs people strolling into members areas

Wouldnt be a problem if it was sold out at the start of the year.

Maybe they should reduce the size of the chookpen.
