Unless opposition supporters are being deliberately annoying or confrontational, who gives a shit?
If this is one of the biggest issues in people's lives, get a bloody grip.
I've only sat near the pen once and will never go near there again. The behaviour, racism and language from 'ladies' wearing red, white and blue was beyond disgraceful.
Sounds like your mate PearceOrf ruined your night again Demi???

Hahaha dude I totally agree I guess for some people the roosters are all they have in their life
I sat in the Crunulla away area last night. It was lots of fun to hear them bag Pearce after he set up try after try.
Then half of them left at half time, wonder why?
It's always fun to hear the opposition fans say "we don't even look like making a break"

I can't see what's so funny. For some of us who are going through tough times personally, going to watch our footy team is a break from stress and something to look forward to. I think it's a perfectly reasonable request to expect a certain level of enjoyment and safety when we go out at night, whether it be to the football, watching the symphony or simply going for a drink with friends. I don't expect to have our night ruined by opposition fans who can't hold their tempers or liquor. The Chookpen is for Chooks. Simple concept. It's not like there is never any other available seating for opposition fans to sit in.

What are you talking about? Did you read ghost of finches comment? Im agreeing that if people aren't being intentionally annoying or confrontational then who cares, if I have a mate with me to enjoy the game and he is just sitting there how does it effect you having fun and relaxing. No one wants to put up with drunk dickheads anywhere near where they're sitting
two weks back i was invited and sat in the merge members area i kept my mouth shut just applauding trhe easts stuff and consequent easy win! buit i didnt spoil it for the merge fans nor bring undue attention to myself as an easts fan!

You behaved as a guest should. This is the issue I think most Rooster fans have with non-members in the pen.

I agree with stephenj and axe, I have nothing wrong with opposition fans coming to our games and sitting in our stands, as long as they don't behave like d*ckheads. and that is the same with our fans at away games.
I was walking out of the ground after the ANZAC clash and every time I saw a dragons supporter I felt like shouting out something, but in the end, common sense, and a bit of humanity prevailed.

Exactly. That's what I was trying to get at in my original comment.
99 % of league fans do the right thing and if opposition fans are causing problems, then alert security.
The time I sat near the pen Roosters fans were up in arms to security as Dragons fans were walking down the bays to take their seats! Ridiculous. It's like some people go there to pick fights. Not to mention some of the Dragons fans were Asian and had to deal with torrents of racist abuse from Roosters supporters. I was disgusted by the behaviour and it would be disappointing to see if this is the mentality that's there every week. It's a free country. People should be able to sit where they want if they are behaving (and they should be given the opportunity to behave, not be hounded out before they've even sat down).
I would hate to see it come to a segregated seating situation like European soccer.
Light-hearted banter with opposition fans is part of the fun of going to the footy.
i made a thread about this some weeks ago, and agree 100%, I thought they stopped selling chookpen tickets?
everyone in the pen pays extra to sit there and be apart of it, i dont think its fair on them that they need to sit amongst enemy supporters who sneak in.
i saw 2 shark fans 2 rows infront of me, security asked them "You guys got tickets for chookpen?" they said "Yeah".. then security kept on walking, he didnt even ask to see them....its called the chookpen for a reason, it isnt supposed to house Sharks fans,Storm fans, Broncos fans etc etc, it is suppose to be 100% ROOSTERS, that is the point!, Letting everyone else in defeats the purpose , Might as well stop calling it CHOOKPEN, and call it the "Mostly Roosters fans but if you follow the other team...sneak right in we wont say boo "
What gets me tho is why do they WANT to sit amongst us, there lucky we arnt souths or bulldogs fans, i cant imagine many sneak into there members area and get away with it.
I understand completely what you are saying but some on here are just to thick to comprehend. If you are not a Chook, then why buy a Chookpen pass? It's quite a small section of the stadium when you think about it, so why go and lump yourself there when there are multiple other seats, some with better views too, to choose from. It's like when you are on a bus which is barely full and there is always one who wants to come and sit right next to you when there is plenty of space elsewhere. Common sense is not that common at all is it?

The Chookpen is a very small section of the stadium allocated to Chooks fans only. No-one is asking for the entire stadium to be segregated at all. If you want the lighthearted banter with your opposition fans, that's what General Admission is for! There are plenty of seats in this category with fabulous views for this very purpose. I use Bay 9 all the time when taking friends, clients etc from visiting teams and a good time is had by all. I wouldn't dream of taking them into Bay 14 where my rightful membership seat is or the Chookpen as it's just not on.

Agreed. It's called the Chookpen for a reason and should be for our loud and proud supporters.
Theres a whole bloody stadium of seats for crying out loud. I honestly wouldn't even think twice about sitting in the Bulldogs Army with my Roosters jersey on. Nor would I ever feel comfortable sitting in the Burrow.
