  • Roosters marketing get your act together

i dont mean to be a whinger but wtf have roosters marketing done since the season has finished...........

firstly and most importantly the promotion for 2010 hasnt began. if you look at the website of other teams they have already been flooding there websites about intrest in memberships in 2010, even st chokeawrra whose season finisihed a couple of days ago have done this. surley if those arseholes can do it after 3 days then we can do it in 3 weeks!!!!
futhermore, roosters marketing hasnt even updated the last game widget from the cowboys game. i think many of you will agree with me that the lack of attention to our own website compared to other teams throughout the season is pathetic. the photos havent been updated since round two, the wallpapers are still the same from 2 years ago etc, the members area in paticular which was 'a benifit' for getting my membership is a disgrace.

i dont care how bad our season bad our season was, they still have a job to do!! they have to take a lot of the blame aswell as the players for crowd figures this year.

season 2010 for us started the day after we lost to the cowboys. brain smith has shown how keen he is to begin putting the pieces back togtether, cutting the crap etc.

the marketing department is one of the most important aspects of a successful team. they have the most job of spreading the brand of the roosters, encouraging people to come out to games, encourage people to take out memberships.

like the performance of our team this year they are discrageful, and they better get there act together, becuase now is the time to start creating the buzz and excitment for next year with a new coach, new staff, and new players for 2010...... and we have already fallen behind..

Just to point out, the website is now "Dictated" by the NRL, they control ALL the NRL club websites.

The club only provide content, they cannot change the structure of the site. it is what it is.

But you are right roosters, Funds and Personel need to be invested big time. There are people there working with what they can, but they need more.

In there defence, when a team plays like we did in 2009, the job of persueding a large crowd to attend a game becomes INFINANTLY more difficult.

and you are definatly correct, we should be advertising memberships for 2010 NOW !!!!

thats quite interesting that souffs have been allowed to retain a separate site to the NRL alligned site (http://www.therabbitohs.com.au/)

Again there we are talking about funding and personel.

We have souffs that are pouring resources into a separate stand alone site, yest the roosters along with 15 other clubs have decided to fall into the dictated web sites of the NRL and it seems only souffs have decided to keep a stand alone site, all credit to them.

When you have PHaC and the showman running joint, they understand the value of marketing and will afford the resources and personel to offer premium service.

I am not saying that we should not voice our concern, it is a concern that there is no information about the new memberships, but it highlights the lack of resources the Roosters Marketing dept has.

                  it is very unfortunate.

I've been thinking the same Mario. I agree 100%. If we can't get the marketing side sorted out, how else can we ensure financial viability for our club

On our current website, you can buy tickets to the awards nights (held 3 weeks ago); you can download vouchers for Fitzy's last game; there is nothing on the front page about membership for 2010; you can click an icon for Fitzy's shave for a cure (held on 5 Sept); and advertisement for Fitzy's last game

Sub-standard and very poor. They harp on about membership numbers and there is nothing about membership for next year (apart from when you click on members icon)

I've been impressed by Noyce to date but he needs to sort out the marketing department quick smart

I have found information on the Roosters web site about 2010 memberships....................

                      open www.sydneyroosters.com.au

scroll down to the end of the page.

on the bottom right, you will find a black box with white text saying "register your interest for 2010 memberships".

                      thats not good enough.

I know that Jarrod, the membership manager, left at the end of the season to go to the sharks, so basically they are running one down at the moment, so details of the membership packages may take a bit longer to come out.

Im not going to hammer marketting this time. rather I will ask....with the result of last season, and the unknowns of next season, what advantage would teh club have by putting season passes on sale say, tomorrow? Ask yourself, with the sting of a spoon smacking our arses, would you be in any mood to fork out with the pain still fresh?

They wouldnt sell many now. Maybe in a month theyll start ramping up for Xmas. But there's no point going hell for leather marketting a team that has no major sponsor. Maybe we need a major sponsor to promote the merchandise/branding?

People have completely forgotten we are Samsungless.

It's a shame Jarrod left, he was the standout in the marketing department whenever I had dealings with them.

Perhaps the club are a little gun shy after the rubbish dished up on and off the field in 2009.
