  • All the best to big Marty.

He never got enough credit on here.

While I'm sad to see him go, it's better than losing young Napa and Evans who I believe are the real deal.

    • Sorry to see Martin go hasn't played his best football yet if he can keep injury free he has plenty of potential. Regardless of what people say recovering from a foot injury and a weight bearing point in the body when you are carting around over 110 kilos takes some time.

Gave our club everything whilst he was here on and off the Field and that's all that is expected when people pull on the jersery. I wish the young man every success at the broncos just not against us.

Agree Mightyrooster that as part of the long term succession planning we are going to lose a few players that we would like to keep in the club structure and Martin has served the club well, some of our signings we get it wrong but he wasn't one of them. Napa and Evans are part of the future and we need to hang onto these guys and make sure they have a clear pathway to first grade.

Have a lot of faith in Brian Canavan and the recruitment team to get this right, he has done it in the past at this club.

        • Yep, a good move for everyone.
I believe Marty has been very good for our club over the years with his effort and attitude, but with the stockpile of front rowers we were building up, something had to give. Same situation with Lama. Both boys get to continue their careers closer to home, and we get to keep the likes of JWH, Moa, Lui, Evans and Napa.....

Remember Evans and Napa have proved nothing so far in first grade.
Even Casty has hopeless as he might be looks like a cross between Shane Webcke and Glenn Lazarus compared to this dufus.

He's gone from perhaps the leagues most ill disciplined player to barely conceding a ruck penalty since leaving us.

              Fancy that.

                • It's weird seeing him in that jumper. Too true Tommy about the penalties he no longer concedes. He is still good for the odd dropped ball though.
