  • FPN Strikes Again

Yeah so once again, after FPN has re-signed, he has gone on to play like utter sh*t for the following games.
    In today's game:
    47 m
    18 tackles with 1 missed.

    When put in comparison with:
    JWH:
    114 m
    25 tackles with 1 missed.

    LOD:
    125 m
    29 tackles with 0 missed.

    SBW:
    113 m
24 tackles with 2 missed. (5 offloads, mind you)

    Cordner:
    136 m
    28 tackles with 1 missed.

It just isn't good enough from FPN and that is why I was against him from re-signing.

I thought you'd retired only to come back as another alias?

The signs from FPN aren't looking good I'll agree. The whole team seemed to be a tad off their game today or is it just me?

Maybe not at there best but still pretty strong though.

To beat Newcastle in Newcastle by 16 points with a 14 - 8 penalty count against us is no mean feat.

I do not believe that Frank-Paul's role in the full strength team is to make large numbers as his numbers for the vast majority of the season have largely been in the 40-70m range and with fewer than 10 runs of the football.

During the period of time that he was making large numbers in the runs and metres gained column we were without Jared Waerea Hargreaves and Sam Moa which required an increase in workload and slightly different role.

                  then what is his role?

I thought when FPN came on in the second half our defence around the ruck improved ten fold, he was sticking with every tackle and really nullified their go forward which they were having so much success with.

I can not respond to that question with a correct answer as I am not Trent "Robbo" Robinson and nor do I have access to his game day tactics. My observation is based upon watching his games when Jared and Sam are in the team Frank Paul often plays a more defensive role and while they were not there he was playing with a higher workload and giving us strong runs as we were without our two leading players in this department.

well, from watching the same games you are,
FPN has been making 16-18 tackles per game, playing 'a more defensive role', and making 40-60 metres per game. this isn't good enough from a lock like FPN.
Last night, Shaun Fensom, the raiders lock, made 49 tackles and 100m
On Friday night, Corey Parker, the broncos lock, made 49 tackles and 142m, with 2 offloads as well.

FPN isn't producing the sort of numbers he should be.

In fairness Parker and Fensom are arguably the two forwards with the highest workrate in the NRL. They also play 80 minutes and are different players. Not sticking up for FPN but using those 2 is a harsh comparison.

You are comparing 80 minute players to a man who does not play that many minutes and also is not the main focus of his forward pack like the aforementioned players are to their team.

This is why I bring up the point about Frank Paul's role because we get those numbers from other forwards and I believe that if Frank Paul was not living up to Trent Robinson's expectations he would not have found his way from the bench in to the starting line up or even hold his spot in the team.

It is all too easy to quote statistics and numbers to prove a point but statistics do not tell the full story and are often misleading.

When you want to compare players from different teams , you need to be fair .Fensom played for 76 mins !!!!
                              So your point is invalid
