I will try to explain but I don't think intrigue is the correct description.

I have been a Rooster supporter for MANY years and have always been interested in what the bookies think of our chances in all situations. If that arouses your curiosity this is my reason.

Considering we play souths, I think $5 is pretty tasty odds.
No amount of money would make me happy if the Chooks lose.
If a measley couple of hundred bucks compensates you for a Roosters loss than good luck to you. It would take a lot more to compensate me!
I hope you do you dough. And maybe you should realise that life is full of ups and downs so if we do lose than just deal with it!

Yeah...all or nothing for your team.

This sort of bet hedging in footy...esp involving the natural enemy...makes me billious.

            Calm down boys!

You're missing the point. Of course I want the Roosters to win, and no, $200 isn't going to make it okay, or make me happy. I am more than happy to sacrifice $40 if it means the Roosters will be minor premiers. If we don't make it, $200 doesn't make it okay, but at least I have a little win and something to distract me from the issue.

I hope I lose it too! I truly do.

I'd hate to be either of you two blokes! You clearly take things too seriously. I'm as passionate of a supporter as they come, but I understand that betting on the opposition has zero effect on the result of the game. The boys won't play any better or worse knowing I've bet against them, and I won't cheer any less.

If you want to jump on your soap box then why don't you spend your time laying in to those supporters who are suggesting they don't want us to win the minor premiership because all they care about is the Grand Final? I want us to win everything that's on offer!

            Enjoy your lives. GO EASTS!

I can understand your logic but I wouldn't do it, I'd rather bet on the Roosters for the MP that way if we win I get money and MP, if we lose who gives a **** we're second.

At least the money will help drown the sorrows?

                Works for me.

As a keen punter, I never bet against my Chookies. It's just not right in any way.

The only times I back them with my money is when I truly believe they are value, hate getting money attached emotionally.

If anyone is interested, Roosters are 6-1 in their last 7 games against the spread. They are killing bookies!
