  • Should we be hunting for a winger?

Wondering on your thoughts? Today I watched the Storm vs Canberra & couldnt help noticing the young Tank, Freak, Score trying machine on the Storms wing. I dont remember his name but I think he had 20 on his back & a rats tail. If Mini doesnt go around next year ( I love the guy, but I feel his time has come ) & Roger turns out to be the star Fullback that we know he is. What do we do with the wing position, can we depend on Moga being injury free?

Mahe Fonua I think is his name.

Storm won't let him go, nor will the faiders let Wighton go.

I think personally we should deveop what we have. Goodsell, Meehan, Taane Milne and Nene Mcdonald are all respectable prospects in the 20's.

Wells has been good at Newtown and Oldfield is another speedster who will be vying for a spot next year. I don't think making a signing just for the hell of it is a wise move. All the signings this year have been warranted, given the circumstances of last year. The pragmatic approach would be to give one of the reserves listed above a go and see how they hold up.
          Comment of the year:

Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,

"It's touched Lui's hand and travelled forward but that's not a knock on"

Ok, but for the young guns like Wells to play 1st grade doesnt someone need to drop off the current 1st grade roster? Wells is a huge talent, Im just worried we may be short in the wing?

                Oldfield is not the answer.

No not at all. Morts is a great players footballer rather than an athlete which is a rarity these days. I've watched oldfield play since his days at scots. Never been a smart player always fasted on pitch though.

Oldfield, Wells, Rokolati, MacDonald, Goodsell and Elliot are all possibilities.
I can see Oldfield being used as a one year stop gap solution next year, in order for one of the other aforementioned players to mature into a good winger.
We don't need to go out and splash money on a winger.

Mahe fonua is the guy your looking for, I think. People bag out Moga for supposedly being crap and uncomitted in defense. You should have seen this guy at the beginning of the season, let in about a thousand tries down his wing.

I dont rate Oldfield, he has done nothing to make me believe he is a 1st grader, he may be fast but the rest if his game is pathetic. Wells is our best option.... I believe
