  • Have we peaked too early?

    The loss of BC,
    SBW deciding to move on,
the halves having an arduous origin campaign.

I hate to say but Im thinking we may struggle at the pointy end.

Souths will bounce( how was Burgess and the squirrel grip, HG and Roy where are you?)
    Melbourne coming good.
    Newcastle will improve
    Manly solid.

    My market

    Souths 5/2
    Melbourne 3/1
    Manly 8/1
    Newcastle 25/1

which leaves the roosters around 4/1 in my opinion.
    We are currently unders.
    barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!

I get the feeling we might have.

It's a massive ask to sustain a form streak this far out from the big show.

No we just beat a fringe top 8 side 42-6 and the following week play below par low completion rate very high penalty count against us and still beat a top 8 side. We won't win big matches playing like that but quality sides historically win these sort of games when they dip in form.

Who says we need to sustain this form streak This time 3 years ago we lost 3 straight Yet still made the GF Mind you when that happened a few of the geniuses here were all doom and gloom Saying we had peaked and would be lucky to make the finals

Agree on the roosters price, but not the rest. Im glad you're not a bookmaker. Souths are currently $5 to win the premiership, which I think is about right.
                    My market is
                    MELBOURNE $3.75
                    ROOSTERS. $4
                    SOUTHS $5
                    MANLY. $5.50
                    DOGS. $7
                    KNIGHTS. $33
                    SHARKS. $50
                    the rest are no hope.

injuries have certainly not helped recently, I can see us going 2 and 2 in the last month, beating Tigers/Titans losing away to Sharks/Bunnies.

depending on injuries it wouldn't be the worst thing to rest JWH in round 26 due to the risk of suspension and maybe give Friend or Maloney the week off as well.

I hope Robbo uses this week against the Tigers to give Langi his debut, who knows what the next couple of weeks might hold, would be good to see if he can be called on if required heading into September.

We have plenty of depth in the halves imo. If Maloney or Pearce were to get injured in any match, we have ready made replacements in Morts and Sbw to slide in. We have a versatile side

If anyone has peaked too early, it was our ugly red and green stepsisters..I think we are just where we are supposed to be..

Not really convinced that this is like a horse race, where if you sprint in front early you get run down in the end because you run out of puff. I would prefer to keep winning, as we have, rather than finishing 4th or 6th and "timing" our run.

Apart from injuries, the biggest threat is and will remain the historically unprecedented sabotage campaign against Easts by the referees. This needs to be called for what it is - a blatant unfair handicapping if our chances with relentless unjustified lopsided penalty counts in most every game we compete in, together with one sided refereeing of the play the ball speed, allowing teams playing us to get an almost unstoppable roll upfield. NRL need to be named and shamed.
