  • JWHs Weight

Last time I checked the chooks website still had him around 106kg, but am sure the telegraph hsd him around 121Kg a few weeks ago. Does anyone know what weight he is kicking around at?

He was always tall and lanky, but has definately bulked up this year. The great thing is that not only is he dominating the initial impact (whether in attack or defense), but it hasnt come at a cost to his mobility and athleticism.

They said he put on bulk and muscle to weigh in at 120kg, great move by caching staff, JWH is currently the best prop in the game.

Backwards & Chooks half bruvva, young Smiffy is to credit for the strength & conditioning during his 5 week "holiday".
It has taken him to the next level.
      And he's ours

Wouldn't surprise the Turk, 3 weeks on the side lines could turn Lod into a bigger machine..

The rugby league week ran a story about him last week. He said he's been working in the off season with the strength coach doing power lifting stuff & he clocks in at 120kg.

Boyd should come back weighing 140kg and 1ft taller now that he'll have 10 weeks with Keegan.
It's scientifically impossible for Easts to be in Souths' shadow when there's daylight between them and us.
                Easts to win

As long as he never gets as big as Sam Fatsiano.
                  SUPER DRAGON!

As long as he doesn't put too much on from here. I still want the big fella playing 50-60 minutes as his contribution to the side is second to none.

I can't wait to see how he goes against South Sydney.

IMO this season has been Jared's first. I was a big doubter for his first few years... calling him something like a "lanky white SBW without the big hits and shoulder charge who has a habit of conceding lots of stoopid penalties."

He sat right in front of me on the weekend when he wasn't on the field. BIIIIG man (I'd say significantly bigger than SBW) and we lacked serious grunt when he was out suspended.

Can't fault the guy... tears down the house for 60+.

                      ---

Back to his weight though... I have a pic of JWH next to Tamou during the Aus v NZ match this year on my phone (bing/yahoo/duckduckgo or whatever it...)

This photo shows Jared to be a tiny bit shorter but significantly thicker (in a balanced, more stable looking way.) To me this sums it up... he's got a perfect body for modern rugby league.

His tackle on George Rose (which BTW I think was just a legal, dominant tackle) sums up the failings of the oldschool prop physique. Rose is used to using his weight and centre of gravity to keep rolling forward... neither him nor the refs had seen somebody heavier than Rose run in, skittle him off his feet and then rag doll him. Rose fell down hard and fast after copping the full force of Jared's body. Can't say there are many who can do that much damage to Newton's law of universal gravitation...

Jared's a special breed and has put the weight on gradually, so hasn't injured himself, wrecked his style/agility or ended up looking like one of those w@nkaz who spend 24/7 in the gym, talk about all the "supps" in the world except for the one they're REALLY injecting and walk around in tight shirts. He's got THE rugby league physique and isn't rushing things, so take your time... he's only gonna get better.

I agree whole heartedly, I know his big pineapple head must weigh 20+kg, but it is such a treat to have him running around in our colours.

The club is on something here, and I have never thought once he would ever get injured. Just a massive strong unit with a well developed offload.

Moving forward, we will have the best prop in the game if he continues to improve.
