I wonder if it might have a bit to do with the physical toll one year back in the NRL has had on his body, in comparison to playing a few seasons of centre in rugby ?

He didn't do himself any favours by skipping the off season though. If he stays next year, he might do things a bit differently next time.

I think people are speculating a little to much on the toll league has taken on sbw. He has missed 1 or 2 games due to injury this yr, if someone gave me that at the start of the year I would of happily taken that.

SBW himself has admitted in interviews he didn't realise how much the game has changed and the ongoing pace. Trent confirmed this at the coaches' forum regarding the toll its taken on him. And he didn't have that sweltering pre-season training the rest of the squad had to undertake, sometimes in 40 degree heat as well.
