  • Blessing in disguise.... I'm putting a different spin on this.

Ok here goes, this is how i hope it all unfolds. We lose 2 games back to back heading into the finals which are of no importance at all. Sharks played their grand final against us and will be out in the first week of the semis. The titans beat us because it was do or die for them, their whole season came down to that 80mins. We had our minds on this weeks game against south sydney junkies. Now we have lost the premiership favourites tag, we are supposedly in a slump and we have all the motivation in the world, papers saying we have peaked too early, chokers and no longer feared by other teams, now manly and melb would rather play us than souths.... Etc etc Then, BANG! It all ends on friday night at homebush. We absolutely destroy souths punish their forwards, the burgess brothers will be lining up for ice packs and inglis will be devasted because his diving and acting classes didnt pay dividends and merrit will be choking on that big-ass mouthguard he uses while reynolds will be bent over for the conversion in other ways! That is how the Roosters will shut all these scummy reporters up and bring that trophy back to Bondi where it belongs! Who's with me?

Whenever I read talk like this, I'm reminded of these comic pages from my youth.

        I agree to an extent.

Against Souths - I think it will be close, I think we will have a very good game. But I don't think we will win.

We are missing far too much starch in the centre of the field with all 3 of LOD, Cordner and Kennedy missing. JWH cant do it all himself, Moa is too small, Liu is still a novice and FPN is not pulling his weight as a No.13 in defence.

Sadly, I think the Souths pack are going to eat too many meters on the night.

Would be overjoyed to be proven wrong of course..

It's like losing the qualifying final to the dragons in '75. and to the berries in '74. Ultimately meaningless as Easts climb the premiership mountain

We can beat any team on the day when we are switched and if we get a even share of possession and penalties we are a big chance to best souffs as the players will want to overcome the first round loss. A key to our success in playing well is Jake kicking for the line rather than give the ball air for grub Inglis. Have faith in our team we are down but not out - we are a champion team !

Agree, It all starts this week, a win would be awsome, a close loss won't be that bad, a loss by way of a flogging will end our season?

Yes Turk - they deserve every success - the team coaching staff and admin for turning the club around. It's been a great season I hold my faith in them as I think they will come out blazing against the vermin and a win will be a enormous confidence booster. If there is such a thing as karma or reincarnation I sure hope I not come back as a vermin supporter.roosters forever

This is assuming Cecchin is one of the ref's Friday night? win/win for Cecchin either way you look at it
"Do you expect me to talk"? "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die".

Anyone remember in 2010 we lost to the Sharks in round 23, then the Titans in round 24 but then we bounced back to smash the Sea Eagles in round 25?

Obviously this year is a completely different year, but the similarities to the final part of 2010 is quite uncanny.

Indeed, that was the start of our run towards the GF. I have no doubt a similar run will happen this year, from rd26 on we don't lose, we can't lose.

I tend to agree with this. I think we'll see a big improvement but lol@souffs will have its fairytale and win the minor premiership. While it pains me to see that, I don't want the roosters to treat this game as their GF. The game in October has the bigger prize

Doesn't LOD come back in for this game, it was a 2 week suspension wasn't it?
