boyd cordner is the real deal as a youngster, probably still too young at the moment for first grade but he is a terrific prospect.

Remember though, Boyd Cordner (backrow), Joseph Leilua (backrow), Cheyse Blair (centre/fullback), Ethan Lowe (lock) and Jacob Miller (five-eighth), regardless of their ability, are still VERY young - I believe all are born in 1992, meaning that they still have 3 more seasons of NYC.

I think we should consider giving all 5 a FULL season of NYC next year in their respective positions before we thrust them into first grade just yet.

For Waqa, Kennedy and Masoe, this is a make or break season. All are off-contract at the end of 2010, and Waerea-Hargreaves (prop) and Cherrington (backrow) are already both signed until the end of 2012. So really, if Masoe, Kennedy and Waqa don't stand up and be counted, expect to see them shipped out.

agree completley with everything you just said. Add du plessis (if he stays ofcourse) to the 1 year of NYC and that should give us a good framwork for 2011

The signing of Mason will go down as another major recruitment blunder

Pay Willie Wanka $100,00 to do nothing and walk away or pay Willie Wanka $300-400K to do much the same on the field in 2010.

                  It's a no brainer.

$100K is a bargain for getting rid of him I reckon.

Not that I'm biased at all.

Mason does not want to leave unless he finds a playing gig elsewhere...

Then I suggest POS makes yet another overseas trip to SA or Japan and find him a suitable gig. He probably has enough frequent flyers to do it as a freebee.

If he doesn't want to get up & go elsewhere the common sense approach is for Smith to relegate him to play for the Jets.
With all the unnecessary hype this would generate each week as well as the public humiliation, i would bet my left nut that his manager would suggest he pulls up stumps and moves on to the ESL or Rugby overseas.

Playing in the Jets would do his next salary huge damage.... taking the 100k and living in the UK for a few years is his best option.
