I'd rather we didn't retaliate at all as it's more dignified to remain silent. Why waste precious space, time and effort acknowledging them, or anyone else for that matter? The banners in the pen are some of the best and most colourful in the NRL and because of the amount of big wins we've posted this year, they get a lot of coverage. The classy and respectful thing to do is use banners to congratulate and encourage our own superstars, not feed attention seeking second rate opposition fans.

The truth is it was a small minority of the burrow who made and knew of the sign before the game and it was not a club sanctioned sign (I understand normally signage in the burrow is supposed to be 'approved'). Most of their supporters think it was in bad taste and reflected badly on their club. As someone else said... there are idiot supporters in every clubs fan base,

There's no doubt the banner was shameful. The perpetrators were a minority, look completely silly, and brought a small dose of disgrace to their club. There's no reason to drag our club down to sewer level. Cop it on the chin, rise above, show great sportsmanship, barrack the chooks like mad and applaud our opponents win or lose. There'd be no comp & no glory without great opponents. That's how you show class and winning attitude. Besides, put up a banner remotely similar & the great man Politis (if not other Chookies fans) would get the banner brought down quick-smart. Go the chookies!

Sorry mate, it wasn't.

I was sat opposite it - they had it out for about 10 minutes just when the teams came out, and they got it out again when we were being handed the shield.

We commented on that at the time.....if we're supposedly in their shadow, how come we were the ones getting the big trophy, and they were the ones skulking off?
