I would like to see the cash used to invest in the younger players in our squad with bright futures.
By purchasing players such as Ferguson, it opens the door for other clubs to come in and poach players like Moga.
Personally, I think Moga is of the same calibre as Ferguson, and will grow to be a similar player, without the arrogance and childishness.

Cheers Max! Taumalolo as you say is a gun and very much reminds me of Dave Taylor with being such a destructive runner of the ball, very hard to stop!

I'm talking about Taylor at his best, the sort of form that earned him a QLD jersey and the way he tore the storm apart last weekend. You are right though Kingbilly, Taylor certainly can be a pea heart at times.

Taumalolo is a quality player with huge talent, a very big unit just like Taylor. He puts fear into the opposition with his destructive runs and is very hard to stop. He has hardly featured in 1st grade this year which really surprises me, I get the feeling he might not be happy up there and with a change of coach happening, there may be an opportunity to get him.

Fair enough. Something is going on behind the scenes with him this year, no doubt he has the talent but wasn't getting selected for some reason. He was finally selected last weekend and with his time on the field he was excellent, looked like he had never been out.

They were talking about it on Matty Johns and they just said his head wasn't right for first grade and took it as a bit of a joke kind of thing.

He is a HUGE talent and would be amazing to sign but

a) There's no where we could fit him in with a forward combination of JWH, Moa, O'Donnell, Liu, Langi, Napa, Evans (Fingers crossed), Guerra, Maubs, SBW, FPN and Cordner

b) Need to upgrade contracts like said previously

c) SBW

I reckon we'll need most of the SBW money to upgrade Sheck, Tupou, Moga (if we hang on to him) Evans, Liu, Napa, Langi, Moa.....and pretty soon we're going to have to start paying Jenko full whack, as I'm assuming the Panfers are currently contributing.

Also, I think LOD is on minimum wage, so he'll be chasing a pay rise.

In short, we're going to go pretty close with the squad we have - I'd rather us try and keep it together, instead of looking at blokes like Fergo, Hopoate etc.

Good post. Imo though a talent like Taumalolo you make room for him. Arona and Bosden are in our top 25 contracted players who can go. It seems to be guaranteed that SBW won't be with us in 2015 (possibly even 2014 if we win comp who knows?), so a spot will open there.

With the salary cap going up helps to pay for upgrades in players contracts.
