The highlights showed Taumalolo scoring a really good try. Close to the line he is near impossible to stop, with legs like tree trunks he has loads of power!
The other thing I saw was he was the player who beautifully set up Linnett in the last 10 seconds of the game to nearly snatch a victory. If it was a specialist winger instead of Linnett it would have been a try.

His stats from the game were 134m from 12 hit ups (so he makes good meters every carry) and from only 40mins on the field. 1 try, 1 line break and 12 tackle breaks.

The point I'm making here is the guy can be a match winner for us, and imo he is the perfect replacement for SBW when he eventually leaves. Or even in the chance of SBW staying for years to come, still go ahead and get the bloke as he can be an awesome player for us, and he is that good of a player that you do what it takes to make room to get him!

As I have said before, Arona and Bosden are in our top 25 contracted players and they can be let go. I would be willing to let go of Guerra to get him if need be, but don't think it would need to come to that hopefully.
All the potential in the world, but extremely inconsistent which I believe is a reflection of his fitness and application/attitude. You get glimpses of his attitude by watching him closely in defence. Have a look at him walking in the lead up to Tagatese's try.

Madrooster things like that can be fixed by Robbo. The players up there at the cowboys didn't seem to get along well with Henry, which wouldn't have helped Taumalolo's cause. Much like the case with Smiffy when he was with us, you can now see all those under performing players under him then, playing a thousand times better now!. He is 20, so he is only young and Robbo would have plenty to work with, with him.

If he gets to spend 1 season with SBW would also work wonders for him!
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

        Here's looking at you, kid.

I'm with you on that one! I love his hard ar$ed, tough as nails enforcer style!

Also from what I have been hearing, people better get used to the idea of Fergo coming to us! I know that I am all for his signing, he can be a real weapon for us and we can have the best center combination in the game!

Hard to get used to that idea - that would probably mean the end of SBW I guess

Yeah, good luck with that one, he's contracted for the next 2 years... and the kid is a prodigy, Cowboys moved him and his whole family from Mangere (FPN/Moa/Liu/Seluini's junior club) to Townsville when he was 13, doubt he's going anywhere anytime soon...

I don't think he set Linnet up to good IMO, he holds that ball just that bit longer, Linnet would have scored. Although he did do well.

Other then that though he was brilliant, big runs, good footwork for a big man and strong, I'd go after him, but we already have one to many good backrowers.

Well it certainly wouldn't be the first time a contract is broken! With Henry getting fired, it could open the possibility for him to be able to leave?

The cowboys were refusing to select him for 1st grade most of the year, so something wasn't right? I get the feeling that Taumalolo has not been that happy up there in that environment this year, he may want out?

He is a Kiwi and not originally a Queenslander so that can make it easier for them to leave QLD, with no deep roots there.

Its good RR2 that you finally got the chance to see him in action. He is a very impressive player isn't he!

I would be prepared to let Arona and Bosden go and if necessary Guerra to get him. If SBW goes than that certainly opens up a huge spot to fill, and I believe that Taumalolo would be the man to do it!

Imo if it was a specialist winger they would have scored from that nice pass from Taumalolo. Wingers are good these days at making sure their feet are in the air when diving for the try. Linnett failed to do that as he is not a winger.

Indeed he is, I'd let Arona and Bosden go but although Taumalolo is probably the better player, I like Guerra and he plays his role nicely.

Maybe when Morts contract is up Jake will be able to play 80mins, which leaves a bench spot free for another forward maybe, if Taumalolo is on the market by that time he would be a sweet buy.
