My fave Horrie moment at the sports ground was when he set up for the best roosters try I have seen.
He ran around in a circle so support could catch up then Schubert went in to score - it was against Manly

My fave Horrie memory (or one of them). Can't remember the year, our goal kicker was out so Horrie was handed the goal kicking duties. Balmain scored two first half tries, led 6-0 at half time. We never looked like scoring that game, then late in the game, quite surprisingly he elected to take a penalty goal from in front and 35mtrs out. He landed it (just) 6-2 with 5 mins to go.
After not looking likely to score all game, somehow we scored with only a minute or two left. 6-5 Horrie lines up the kick from the touchline (Turner Stand corner), left foot toe poker ......nails it !
      Fulltime we win 7-6 !
Had never seen him goal kick before that day, and can't recall seeing him ever kick for goal again.
The guy could do it all !

Horrie kicked plenty of goals for us. I remember him kicking a screamer for us from the sideline against Penrith at the Sports Ground in 1981 and it was on the wrong side for him as a left foot kicker, also remember him missing one from point blank range in front of the post against Parra at the SCG in 1984.

There was one thing he couldn't do.

Oh sorry that's right Horries off limits round these parts.

            Horrie, Lammy, DaFunchy, PearceOrf.

            All in the same gang.

Still the last bloke has his chance to change things.

I wonder will Shandy approve of that reality???

            The FlogPen .

            You know it makes sense.
