Our kicking game

All season it was our weakest link but the last two weeks it has been our strength and along with our defense won us te game. Long kicks finding open space great kick chases with repeat sets and a few tries. Who would of thought week done team halves and coaches. We are finally complete!

Our kicking game was great yesterday, not many attacking kicks due to the territory we had which led to a great game from Pita Hiku with his kick returns. But it was great to see our halves stick it to the arguably one of the best half combinations in the game

Just got to keep that ball away from their fullbacks when kicking for field position. They did that agains the Vermin and now they'll probably have to do against Slater

During Origin I noticed Maloney's kicks were getting charged down under pressure. Last night in particular he was getting them away with little room to do so. He also did some BIG takles and caught a kick above all the big men to get us out of trouble in the last minute. Million dollar Maloney has really stepped up!

The other aspect of out kicking game is that it isn't just our halves kicking. Friend, Mortimer, SBW and a few others have no trouble kicking. Remember when Braith was our sole kicking machine? No don't!!!!!

Really hard to get a good kick away when you have had no dominance in the ruck. We rarely got a good roll on in our get out sets and a lot of the time our kickers were trying to execute under pressure. If you go back and watch it you will probably see that the kicks that found the man were off the back of low yardage sets

First half it was real good second half it was a case at half time Tooves got them to defend our kicks better it was obvious.
I really get peaved when we over bomb though we were always good at running on the last.
